Trading Butler should be considered because Gasol, Noah, and Gibson are all old, broken down, and don't have a future on the team. That's the entire front court! Rose's injury history also makes him a huge question mark. I'd prefer to resign Butler, but his entire contract could be a total loss as the team will be rebuilding before it's too late. Only way to be good for a long period of time is to get many young guys coming together over a short period of time. By the time that COULD happen, Butler will be 28/29.

Thibs, it's been real, but bye

Give Butler the max

Trade Noah and Gibson away

Find a coach that won't play favorites and spread everyone around.

Tell GarPax this is their last chance

JR sells the team

That's my wishlist

Who the hell is going to put fans in the seats if you trade Butler?

Well Taj is mostly likely gone and the bulls do have some young front court pieces in Mirotic, McDermott, and Snell. Also have the great Bairstow. :p

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs

  1. Chicago Blackhawks
1. Will Thibodeau be fired and if so, who will be his replacement?
As far as his replacement? I have no idea. Hoiberg is staying in Iowa IMO. Alvin Gentry's name has been thrown around, but Ron Adams may tell him not to come here lol...
Got a lot of looks at Gentry in his time down here in Phoenix and he's not a better coach than Thibs. Not a upgrade!

This is Butler's prime mostly because Thibs usage of him has added about 2 or 3 years of wear on him.

Bullshit. He has only logged significant minutes for 2 seasons. He wasn't even in the top 20 this season or last in total minutes played.

yeah he missed like 20 games though

which was probably a blessing in disguise because that was the only way he was getting rest

if he played 82 games he'd be the leader most definitely

He would be but he's not because, as you mentioned, he missed games.

most of those guys only have 100-200 more minutes than Jimmy and most of them played near 82 games...so that kinda shows you how overused Jimmy was having missed 17

i don't think we should trade Butler though. just get him out from under thibs

I can just see the Bulls fucking this coaching search up though.

If only Thibs would have brought in an offensive guy along with him...

Also, DRAFT ATHLETES!

So Butler and Snell aren't athletes???

We need star power. Someone to create there own shot, someone you could count on in the clutch, someone that leads the team down the stretch. IMO that is what this team was missing.

Does anyone see any plausible way to get rid of Rose without doing more harm than good?

The Cavs had zero respect for Noah on offense. They put a 2 guard on him at times, and the only time Noah was touching the ball was when he was at the 3 point line. This is a huge hindrance for any system or coach having someone so inept offensively on the floor. Noah is a good rebounder, but he is not a rim protector, and that's the only way you can afford to have such a liability on offense on the floor. Get rid of Noah, and this team becomes better instantly.

Matters become more complicated because I bet Noah's minutes will decline every year he remains in the league. He is a shell of his former self. Body just is not capable of handling the NBA game anymore.

No we don't, most of our players can barely move. We have players like Noah and Gasol who are scared as hell to box out and are soft. We need more physicality instead of these finesse players. And we have many players that can create their own shots. Our coach refuses to use them.

Just around 12 hours into the offseason, and I already sense this board is going to be a gem this summer.
