Its time to put the Drake Maye talk to bed...... he finished 16 of 36 with 1TD and 1NT

Nah man, I was told he was the best prospect since Andrew Luck and that Caleb Williams was the best since Peyton Manning.

So you're chill with him being a Bear?
He would be my 3rd choice as I prefer sticking with Fields and trade 1 or 2 for a boatload of picks or drafting Caleb but not opposed to the idea of the Bears taking him.

You’re a smart guy. You don’t think how a defense is going to play him and what might be available doesn’t shift if you’re winning or tied?

Playing uphill on the road is tough.

So you expect he will never have to play on the road while down in the NFL? Like what is the problem with just admitting a guy played like shit when he in fact played like shit.

No one with any draft cache said that.

Edit: Wait i think Nate Tice said that didnt he?
He did. But like every year, no one really freakin knows with these prospects, especially QBs.

My fear is they will let Fields walk and he will beast once he gets to a competent franchise.

Anytime either caleb or maye play a top defense they shit down their legs.

That was true of Trubisky as well and you still caped for him.

Ok, and i admitted he sucked and made a thread in year 3 saying so.

Have you ever admitted you were wrong about anything?

The more I see of Maye, the less I want him. the more I see of Daniels, the more I'd be comfortable grabbing him.

Whether anyone likes it or not the writing is on the wall for Fields. If the Panthers pick didn't look like a top 3 lock, it would probably be a different story.

They don't actually like Fields. Of course a lot of this depends on what coaching staff is here but even if its a new staff, you have to imagine they'd prefer a highly rated rookie over a guy in his 4th year who is often injured. You guys know me, I love Fields. It just seems highly unlikely he is starting next year, especially if its with the current staff.

In his first competition against a fairly decent team - UNranked Clemson - he laid another egg.

He has a QBR of 79 and that will only go lower after this game.

Meanwhile guys like Bo Nix, Jayden Daniels, JJ McCarthy, Caleb Williams, Mike Penix --- all have QBR's around 90 or more..... all have more touchdown passes (except McCarthy) and have less PICKS than Maye -- only Penix has 1 more pick but Penix has a higher QBR and 7 more TD's.

So you want to get rid of Fields? At least pick the right guy then. Hitch your wagon to Bo Nix. Hitch it to Jayden Daniels. But stop it with the Drake Maye hype machine stuff. The guy is simply not top shelf and falls short when measured against other potential other 1st rounders.

I am not saying he should not be drafted in the first round.... but he has "project" written all over him because of how inaccurate he is. There is no way he should go before being the 3rd or 4th QB off the board.... at best.

He simply misses too many guys and he turns the ball over waaay too much..... meanwhile guys like Bo Nix are spinning it at record numbers -- close to 400 yards and 6 td's for Bo Nix today.

This guy has overdraft/bust potential (Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, etc.), written all over him.
Jayden Daniels is hot garbage and I don't care what the stats say about him. He's not an NFL capable of caliber QB.

What does this have to do with anything?

The point is college guys almost always make their name lighting up trash teams.

It also buys Poles more time if he resets the clock with a rookie qb.

Right. It honestly feels like its been part of the plan all along. I dont see why else you dont immediately give your QB more support, regardless of your resources.
MH, Fashanu/Alt and Connor Williams would go a long way. Fields can do damage with some protection and weapons.

It was 4th and 20 and Maye had a man running up the sidelines and he literally threw the ball 10 yards out of bounds. I mean, like 10 to 15 yards out of bounds. It was incredible….

I don’t think I have ever seen a ball thrown so badly. It was way closer to the bleachers than it was the sideline.

I have never seen a guy so highly ranked miss so badly. But it gets better. Just before that he missed a guy running across the middle of the field by like 10 yards.

His accuracy comes and goes…. and it goes more than it comes. His misses are staggeringly bad!! Like next level bad!! Like freshman/sophomore HS team bad.
