Late last week, DPD submitted a warrant request to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. Williams is facing a charge of carrying a concealed weapon in a motor vehicle.
So cry to the newspaper if you have an issue with it. Next time if someone posts something and says you didnt read the article perhaps you should read the article so you dont comemoff as a moron.

Also why it may not be clear cut as the law you posted is because if 2 people are in a car and each has a gun in their name they both could be considered as transporting. This is especially true if the car is Jameson's car and not his brothers.
So you are assuming the transporting rests solely on who is driving vs who the car belongs to if said owner is a passenger in the car.
I dont see where it has been reported as to whose car it was.

MCL 28.432 An individual can carry, possess, use or transport a pistol belonging to another individual, if the pistol is properly licensed under the Act, and the individual carrying, possessing, using or transporting the pistol has obtained a license to carry a pistol concealed permit from Michigan.

if I was driving my car, I have a concealed weapons permit, and I had a legally registered handgun, are you implying that any passenger I have in my vehicle now has to have one ( concealed weapons permit)as well? Not what the law says.
The fact that the passenger happened to be the one that the gun was registered to changes nothing.
Jamo was a passenger in his brothers car. The pistol was concealed in the car.

You do understand the difference between an arrest and formal charges being filed, don't you?
Williams would be taken out of handcuffs, his gun was returned, a police report was not written and no warrant request was submitted.
An arrest is not the same as a charge. Police don't file charges, and contrary to what's often shown on TV victims don't “press charges” against you. In Michigan, it's typically a prosecutor who decides whether there's enough evidence to charge you with a crime.
