What people are forgetting is Cutler has been more accurate. That TD throw to Jeffery was a wow pass. Bennett has drop a lot of balls last week and this week an Langford dropped a key pass today. Cutler wants to win. Anyone that saw that touchdown run can't deny it. Last week 3 straight run on the last regulation possession to lose the Bears the game. This week that D giving up 10 points in 2 minutes. When Callahan went out with a concussion and McManis came in, that's when the Bears lost the game.

The reason he's playing so good is cause we are limiting him. How can't you guys see that. That was the plan when Gase got here. Run a lot and limit cutlers mistakes

Why does it matter? The bears aren't tied to Cutler so why does it matter? Also offense does better the moment he starts passing alot. Pathetic people can't give credit when it is due?

I wouldn't unleash Cutler, but play to his strengths. He is a really good roll out passer, and can run the ball. Fucking use it more. Also his pocket presence this year has been superb. That fucking Wr quick screen against the Viking's D was just a horrible play.

You can't blame it all on Jay. The whole team falters when they lose. And do great when they win. But yeah they do under use Jay.

Cutler sucks and should be cut

Cutler is good enough to lead this team to the SB

God these threads are so boring.

So you are saying that it's okay for the team to just throw screens? Trestman tried to leash Cutler too, how did that work out? The team should be trying to win, not limit our QB who isn't even tied to them in the future.

Not sure why I even asked you though

out of all of those though, there's a certain group of people that will obsess over the 1 interception in the Vikings game. could you imagine Brett Favre playing leashed? that would take out 80% of the fun of watching him play in the first place. Cutler has played more sound, maybe there's a rhyme and a reason to why they dumped Marshall and are using this strategy, to better his areas of weakness. there's no shortage of talent on offense RIGHT NOW compared to earlier weeks where he had like #5 and #6 receivers playing. that method worked under those conditions. coaching staff probably sees that he's playing clean as-is and are just leaving it alone. once they better stabilize the offensive line with another draft/FA and reach a consensus on what to do with Forte and Jeffery, I think it might eventually change.

Cutler's been run through the wringer his entire time with this team and I think he's been cool about it the whole time. he never says anything negative or cries about it, he just rolls with it. he has continued a lot of bad habits and has had his share of bad moments, but that also coincided with the rest of the team being bad too.

I genuinely don't understand the crowd that think he's a pussy or has no heart. any other starting QB would've lost their minds about 3 years ago. he's clearly not a longterm solution for the next decade, too much time has been wasted on teams that had zero emphasis on running an NFL offense. but if he's not losing games then who cares. we're not paying him or coaching him.

Cutler is playing his best ball of his career and the Bears are wasting it with shitty play calling and a inept defense. Bears should be 4-3 right now instead of 2-5. Man oh man. Gase will be here another year. Good coaches are supposed to win these games. Not lose them.

:cmonman: he's being used perfectly, short precise passing, rolling out to run it or pass it, using his running game to keep the team in makeable 1st down situations, and limiting his mistakes in order to give the team chances to win.

How can anyone possibly not understand this?

Good god, an effective, low risk passing game is exactly what is enabling Cutler to be as level as he is this season.

to whine and cry about not opening things up is just stupid. Aaron Rodgers is playing conservative and mistake free football for less YPG than cutler this year, and they are rolling along at 6-1.
limiting mistakes is FAARRRRR more valuable than spraying the ball all over the field and risking the picks.

Cutting turnovers down has always been far and away #! on my list of what Cutler needs to do, and if this is what it takes to get there, so be it.

no he hasnt.

and air, dont even utter cutler and rodgers in the same sentence. the pack are in no way limiting their O due to their QB, which the bears are.

Very good point I forgot about all the well placed passes that have gotten dropped this year. I believe Cutler has finally learned that a less is a lot more. His darting in around and out of the pocket and making plays reminds me of Rodgers and thats a very good thing.

Hilarious... All off season long people complained they passed too much and needed to limit Cutler's passing... 8 weeks in they're now complaining he's under utilized and they need to pass more... :bizarro::bizarro::bizarro::bizarro::bizarro::bizarro::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Cutler is being used exactly how he should be right now.

Mistakes are being limited, enough plays are being made to win games, and he is using his feet as a weapon.

The problem is not that Cutler is being under utilized, it is that our defense is Pernell McPhee and then no one else.

So we're happy with 3-12 on 3rd downs and our offense only scoring one TD without Fuller's interception? Really? Our defense is the only problem? Ooooook

Holy shit I seriously don't think you even watch the games. Or if you do, do you just sit there with your arms folded hoping cutler gets injured? Or rewatch a play and find a way to not give Jay credit? lol

ten points in the last two minutes, unacceptable dude.

Is going 3 and out to give the ball back to the Vikes with 2 minutes left with a tied game acceptable?

Everyone's giving the offense a pass for their mediocre performance yesterday and it's bullshit. Without Fuller intercepting the ball before the half the offense only scores ONE TD.
