thibs would have made hoiberg earn his minutes as a rook :smug: :troll:
False! Thibs doesn't play rookies! Unless they're European.

the main fear was Hoiberg not gaining respect and people that worried about that were right. i was wrong to think this team was mature enough. hell i thought they were practically asking for change with how they played last season

in the end i feel bad for Hoiberg because i still do believe he can be a great coach but this is the wrong roster for him (he truly should have went to Minnesota..a young athletic team)

hopefully we shuffle this core out as quickly as possible and get some guys that fit Hoiball and actually want to play and hopefully Jimmy learns to keep his mouth shut because if he keeps yapping his jaws to the media hes outta here aswell
Hoiberg has proved exactly Jack and shit in the NBA as a Head Coach. Shake up the Roster so that we can b suck with a whole new cast? The Hoiberg experiment is a failure. He is D'Antoni light.

I don't know if we are making too much of this. Yeah, Jimmy needs an ego check and was wrong to have voiced his issues publicly, but hes always had a chip on his shoulder and that's whats made him a good player. As for the players not fitting "Hoiball," maybe Hoiball needs to be adjusted to fit his roster. As stated, Fred is a rookie coach and still transitioning to the NBA. The bulls aren't awful, but they aren't a championships team.

Personally I'm hoping for some development this year from the younger guys, then see them assemble a good small ball team. Pau is leaving, Taj or Noah is leaving. This is a transition year, and anyone expecting a ring is crazy.

I think it's a mix of both players not fitting and Hoiberg adjusting and imo we've seen Hoiberg start to make adjustments on his end. I thought Niko would thrive as a stretch 4 in his offense, but that hasn't happened.

I don't think anyone is expecting a ring by any means. its just that with the same roster, they have clearly gotten worse for whatever the reason(s), that's what has fans frustrated

Yeah, definitely agree about the frustration. I kinda expected some regression, just because I was a Thibs fan. We got used to them playing 100% every night and giving it all during regular season. I really think Pau has gotten to them, and they started to realized they can take off some nights without major repercussions. I always hated the Lakers because they would just coast then decide they want to try after the all-star break.

The real question is how they do during the playoffs, because thats all that matters, yo.

By calling out Hoiberg, he is also calling out Garfield Goose and friend along with his teammates and team owner. BUTLER IS A THROW BACK. Do you think that Jordan would accept loafing teammates? OF course not. And do you think that if he had a weak coach he wouldn't call him out? Hell he did it before they got Phil Jackson did he not?

This is all on management in my view. Nepotism 101 by Garfield and management picturing Thibs as the anti-Christ. He has got to be laughing his ass off right now. **** Reinny. **** Garfield. And **** Paxson. Oh....BTW **** all players who QUIT on the team despite making more money than any other average player in any sport in the world.

Thibs was also doing poorly and its a fallacy to suggest he would have done better with this roster. The roster just isn't a championship roster and we bulls fans expecting a championship results.

Are you kidding me? Of course Thibs would be doing better. His players busted their asses for the most part with him as their coach. It is all on Gar/Pax for their failure to put a better roster together for both Thibs and Hoiberg. And.......... I hear a lot of stuff about Hoiberg being this "great coach".....a "players coach" right? What evidence is there of that? I woud bet if someone did a survey of all college coaches at the time, Hoiberg would not be in the top ten or even top twenty. This was pure nepotism and a decision of having a coach that they could control and nothing else.

Would you rather Rose coast or goes balls to the wall and absolutely carries this team physically and continues his string of injuries as he did during his all-star years? There's a lot more to think about than you give credit.

So..... you are in favor of players coasting instead of playing with heart? Ever coach any sport?

Have they gotten worse though? They look like the same caliber team to me only they're better defensively and worse offensively. It's not like they were a power house last season whatsoever. This is a team that still probably loses 4-2 against the Cavs. Maybe even 4-1 or a sweep if Love and Irving are both fully healthy in the playoffs.

why would anyone think that a roster full of Thibs players would ever be all in on a coach like Hoiberg? The Bulls still have talent. They are one of the more talented teams in the East. They were a real starting caliber SF for being a serious contender this year. In stead we get a half ass change and a step back. I don't see this team beating Cleveland twice in the playoffs this season.

Thank you. I am amazed by people who are saying that this is a "rebuilding" and has been so ever since they fired Thibs. That is total BULLSHIT. This was sold as a measure necessary for this team to win a championship not somekind of long-term rebuild. This team's first 6 or 7 have good talent and they had more than enought to trade to bring in that SF that you and I have been calling for. But like you said, they fired the coach who had an amazing win-loss record despite horse-shit general manager-ship.

Question to all the "Guys played harder for Thibs" people:

Who the hell played harder for Thibs? Who isn't playing as hard this season?

Rose? Lol...please
Gasol? That's funny....
Jimmy? Taj? Noah?

I can't think of one guy on the roster that makes me thing "Damn, this dude played so much harder last season for Thibs."

Thibs had to make comments like "You're in the circle or you're not" in the PRE-SEASON and what happened? Nothing....still mediocre basketball in the regular season and an early playoff exit. I'd love to hear some examples of guys playing harder for Tommy

added more to my post and you have already said Jimmy should keep it in house. if he wants to call a team meeting and air some stuff out im okay with that...but being disruptive and calling out his coach in the media isn't flying

Did Jordan keep the shit in house when he called out his coach?

Fire Garfield. Fire Paxson. Convicne Reinny to sell the team. That is the only plan that will work. This isn't Hoiberg's fault. He is a coach not given any help by his bosses, other than they made him a multi-milionaire:(

The whole NBA coast until the playoff push. What sport do you watch? Players even say it. They were in the huddle with Pop the other night and he goes I know its a long season but lets get a little more effort on the defensive end. Thats pop saying that. Its why people hate the NBA. Shit, most teams don't try until the 4th. This isn't a 20 game high school schedule.

Stop comparing Jimmy Butler to the greatest player who may have ever played. Also, when did he call him out? The internet doesn't have a thing. Oh and did he do it 20 something games into Phil Jackson tenure. Keep the shit in house. He didn't even say it with passion. He said it like he was spreading gossip.

"Mediocre basketball in the regular season"? I wouldn't call a .647 WINNING PERCENTAGE "mediocre"? That is about the best winning percentage in the NBA during his stint with the Bulls, I would guess or at least top two or three:)

Last year we had a .647 winning percentage? That's news to me.

We had a very mediocre season last year and people are acting like we were dominating the league and the current team has fallen off a cliff. Again, who isn't playing as hard as they were for Thibs? I'd love to hear it.
