But ... it wasn't your OP that really prompted that post. Don't get all Kantankerous and 'Murican on me.

I've had my "****, this is the best" moments. I understood that. No ill will or pomposity intended.

Nope now you've done it. You think Ole is Special person? That shit will not stand. I used to like Canada but after this shit?

Get ready Malcore. I'm going to study some science shit and troll the shit out of you until your asshole is a fucking black hole of butthurt. That brown star is going to start imploding and you won't be able to save it no matter how much poutine and montreal smoked meat and whale blubber or whatever you fucking flappy headed hosers eat.

And personally, I think Ace Frehley is one of the best too but gets overlooked because he was in a band that cared more about theatrics.

You can go out on a Saturday and see better players than Frehley in bar bands.

Let me put it another way.

Brian May > Jimmy Page > Jimi Hendrix > SRV > Slash > CC Deville > Ace Frehley.

CC Deville? No way.

Not saying Poison's music is better (obviously it's awful. Kiss >>> Poison). But I'd put them at a similar level in terms of guitar ability.

IDK, never got into anything Poison. Hearing anything by them is less appealing than nails on a chalkboard. Where's the David Gilmour love? The solo from Comfortably Numb sends chills down my spine every time.

Yeah, hair band rock is one of the rare types of music that pretty much all sucked, imo.

Brian May > Jimmy Page > Tom Morello > Jimi Hendrix > SRV > David Gilmour > Slash > CC Deville /= Ace Frehley > the Edge.

jmo, of course. Like the Edge from U2, I feel Gilmour is a little overrated due to the fact that much of his stuff comes from effects rather than playing. I love PF but don't think Gilmour is up there with the very best in terms of his actual work on the fret board.

I agree with you a lot more on Bears opinions than on David Gilmour. He is #1 to me. I also do not agree with the effects part at all. Yes there are plenty of effects in Pink Floyd music over the years, but not so much with his long leads like in Dogs, Pigs, Comfortably Numb, Shine On.

I don't play guitar so not real qualified on this thread... but David Gilmour is #1 in my book too. NO ONE has a sound like that.

Love this recording. RIP RW.
