Who is stuck in kool aid? People are excited that we got a great manager with a track record with making young kids very good. No one here has profressed championship this year. Shit, most still think we wont make the playoffs. You are going hard because it is in fact good news for the Cubs.

Every Brett05 post in this thread makes me think of writing a parody of Ball So Hard. I will call it Troll So Hard. :D

How are they mistreating him? 1) They have a contract with him. 2) They are going to break it. 3) He is therefore entitled to compensation. 4) They will pay him that compensation in full.

You're trying to argue that the Cubs owe Renteria something above and beyond his contract. They don't. That's the purpose of the contract.

You think because there are consequences that it is ok. It's an error on your part, theberserkfury, Parade_Rain, etc.

Make sure you know what a Troll is prior to asking for publishers. :)

This is pure meatballism, as evidenced by your inability to point out specifically how Renteria is being wronged other than sepia-toned whinging that "he deserves better." Your wistful romanticism notwithstanding, the contract spells out the relationship between both parties in detail, including what each party is entitled to when the contract is broken. Neither party is responsible for doing anything that is not written in the contract. The Cubs are treating Renteria exactly how his contract says he must be treated.

1) Produce the contract. You speak of one that has knowledge of the contract. Please produce it for us all to look at.
2) Negotiating for someone's job while they still have said job of which they did everything that was asked of them with said job is wrong. Nothing meatball about it. It's called humane treatment. Try it.

A troll in a real world sense is a fisherman who doesn't know exactly what lure to use or where the fish are, thus the fisherman casts the line out from the boat and selects a pattern in which to hopefully find fish. Now in the internet world of the CCS Cubs forum, we have a fisherman called Brett who doesn't know much about the game, likely didn't play it past the age of 9 or 10 and roots for a boring team that plays in a boring stadium. This CCS fisherman accuses many of not knowing the game, everything about the North Side stinks, is going bad or even with the arrow clearly pointing up, there can be no success. Yes. The troll pattern is strong with Brett05, and its easy to get sucked in because he's a likeable fellow.

I miss baseball this much

And there's no one to talk to in the Sox forum? It'd be different if your were adding something of substance.

Like I said, I'd have someone help you out there. Right now all you know is how to work with straw there Scarecrow

You feel the mistreatment of Rick is not substance. Not sure what I can do for you.

That said I am in both forums. In reality there should only be a Chicago Baseball forum. It was tried and changed back.

The more you use the word scarecrow the more likely you will be to pin the tail on the donkey. You must do this because you still don't understand the fallacy.

Whatever helps you get thru things... You make some good posts littered by awful posts for whatever reasons you have. Shame too.
