well again, if there is no expectation from this coaching staff, why run a conservative offense?

What is there to lose to open it up?

A loss is a loss is a loss.

Nope. They will get to say "hey we lost but the games were close". And because we got beatdown last year the excuse may by them another 2 years.

After you jumped into a conversation that wasn't directed towards you? You seem to be stalking me cause you were mad i disagreed with some of your game day posts. Funny how others called you names and insulted your football intelligence but i was polite in my disagreement. And then you show up in this thread, responding to another's post who was responding to me only to call me names and insults. I'm surprised you're a jesus fan because that's not what Jesus would do. And all this started on god's day. How christian of you.

!Bueno suerte baboso!

how do you know who can play if you don't find out by running more difficult plays. Sorry, but your logic isn't lining up to the objective.

BTW, isn't conservative play calling basically not trying?

Thats how I see it also. On a team that is going nowhere towards the play-offs, why not be aggressive when you have a chance to win a close game. That Detroit game was so very winnable that it is sickening to see what Fox and Gase did. They had a chance to win three straight games and having two weeks to prepare for another winnable game with the Vikings. Football teams can raise their games when they are winning close games. Momentum is a big factor in football and Fox and Gase blew a chance to achieve it.

No, quite the opposite. I think the problem you're having its built on a faulty premise. Playing conservative does not equal losing or giving up. In fact, it keeps games close by reducing plays by the opposing offense, reduces turnovers and maintains good feild position.

Last year Green Bay scored 21 points in a total of 8 minutes. Had we controlled the clock between each of their possessions, our defense would not have been so tired and their scores could have been spreed out over two quarters instead of the first half of the first quarter.

I think we'll see a less conservative game plan when we have match-ups we know we'll win. Atm, we don't have those type of match-ups so Fox is trying to level the playing field. It's worked imo as we've been close against weaker teams and held our own for some of the game against stronger teams. Heck, we were down 0-6 against Seattle at the half with Clausen. The Green Bay game this year wasn't that bad but some crazy catches by their wrs was the difference. Oak, KC and Det games we kept it close all game and won 2 of 3.

Had we walked into the Detroit game passing nearly every down and blitzing like crazy, what makes to think that plan would have resulted in a win? I just don't get why you think playing aggressive gives us more of a chance to win? And if you don't think so, how do you keep the team playing hard when their down by multiple scores early in the game? Fox is keeping everyone playing hard by keeping the game close.
