Shea could be good, but he hits like a pussy. Can't be a weak pussy LB in the NFL.

Truth hurts.

Lovie (and Tucker as well as well as Nick Aliotti) saw that shea had limited ability to play in two directions. His coverage skills were complete shit.

That's why he was pegged as a pass rusher.

I'm curious how there is actually anyone out there that thinks this turd is NFL caliber at this point...

Well that'd make sense of Shea wasn't 260 his draft year and years at DE... yet it was made clear and some sites do have more updated info about his weight. He lost 15-20 lbs last year in the of-season to transition from DE to LB. There's plenty of articles about it written during last offseason that can be found.
He got down to 253 with 9% body fat at OTA's last year from a few easily accessible articles , so still in the middle of that weight range. If it was deemed he needed 15 more lbs for any position, that should be the end of that conversation.

That and he get's mauled by pass-catching TE's and RB's on a regular basis..

I don't like your posting, but this is true. He is WEAK.

Time to flush the turds, Foxxy!

Funny, he actually looks bigger and more ripped than this guy.

And this guy, looks like a beast.

Physical size and strength, as a LB at least, is not his problem plain and simple

I have a question for those that so despise Shea Mac. Had Brian Urlacher, as the #9 overall pick, with almost identical measurables and combine times been asked to be a hand in the dirt DE, how do you think he would have fared?

He is a much stronger leader and stronger willed player than SM, but I don't think he would have been even average as a DE. I don't imagine SM will ever sniff a pro bowl, but it seems that those that "hate" him, completely disregard how completely misused he has been. It would be like hating on Patrick Kane for his lack of physical play if he were asked to switch to defenseman.

Was handed the OLB position, failed miserably, was benched, given e reprieve by injury( Holdman, if memory serves), and attains all-pro status. Players can start out being cast in the wrong position or scheme, but within 3 years they should show some/any improvement, Shea has not, HE'S A BUST,, lets accept it, and move on.

Notice Fox didn't say that he has a bright future "with the Bears." So he could have meant he has a bright future at Starbucks.

I just want to say that there are entirely too many shirtless pics of dudes in here. I blame Google. Also, I wish the guy nothing but success - he's on the team and I would imagine he too hates losing.

Agree, that his first 3 years have been near to awful as a whole, my only problem kicking him to the curb, this year is I don't see how anything can be taken from him being made to play a pudgy yet still undersized 4-3 DE, and last year he played SAM, a new LB position to him.
Shea had 36 tackles last year. Nick Roach had 28,54,10,31 in the 4 years that he played at least 14 games at SAM for the Bears.

It may just be eternal optimism to think he may be a piece of value in Fangio's defensive puzzle, but I do believe this is the first year where you could say going into it, that he will succeed or fail solely based on his own accord.

Agreed

2 of 12 years...perennial...uhhhhh, no. Healthy for 10 of 32 games the past 2 years , yes.

And whether his languishing is due to lack of talent or due to poor utilization/coaching is a debatable, at 6'3" 263 Shea has prototypical LB size. Urlacher at 6'4" 258 did just fine.

The dude has done everything the team has asked, added bad weight to play a position he should have never been drafted for, lost weight and played SAM, another position he had never played, and now finally getting to play somewhat the position he has his best chance for success. I root for the guy.

Hating on him because he has been fucked around by the previous staff that overdrafted him to play a position he never had a chance to excel in lacks sound critical thought.

In case you missed this from last year, I don't think Shea's physique has anything to do with his lack of production

When does Shea appear with Marie in the weight loss commercials. He's a bum!

Him being a bust doesn't mean you don't have something better still. So yea, you play who is the best available and don't give a damn about people "moving on" or not because it's irrelevant.

Let's see if I got Pace's game plan down...

Trades a perennial pro-bowl, 1200 yard per season, true #1 WR for peanuts.

Dumps yet another perennial pro-bowler and well respected team captain CB from the D when we're already depleted in the secondary and then doesn't even sniff the position in the draft.

Uses his first round pick and 3 of first 4 on offense after watching the previous 2 seasons of worst defense in the history of the team.

And now, is using his HC, trying to jedi mind-**** us in to believing that a guy who could be confused for skinny armed Rob Lowe, who should be pushing a mop is actually worthy of playing in the NFL.

Well, if the guy's plan is to turn this 5-11 team into a 2-14 team, he's definitely doing well.

The realist, ladies and gentlemen.

Nick Aliotti never coached Shea McClellin.
