I think this thread needs more "go **** yourself RK".
Listen ****** bag... When eddie pulls his dick out, let me know how you feel.
Oh it feels good to be back.
And FYI I'm married I "**** MYSELF" all the time!
I think this thread needs more "go **** yourself RK".
Like I said my abrasiveness aside I know many reasons why some of the specific members do not post here. Not all have anything to do with me or my posting/mod style but most just have personal reasons with other members that they just do not post. I'm not getting into specifics or names of members because that would not be right sending anyone under the bus. But I will say some were legit, some were legit and some were not so legit. When you are in the moderators shoes which way do they go? It's not as easy as some make it out to be and the moderaters do daily discuss that stuff as it arrises amongst themselve. There is nothing random about it.
So much so that Supraman told me to knock it off via PM.
For the record the alternative was to actually do the whole warn thing and do the report for the other mods to read.
I would have been okay with that. It is rule by committee is it not? I think an improvement could be for one or several mods to interface with the offender and ask them to explain their actions. Colin Campbell gives this opportunity to all of the players he takes umbridge with. As long as we all know it is a board rule then we shouldn't be upset or feel embarrased when a mod sends a PM that ASKS, "why are you so bent out of shape by poster X? Please tone it down so I don't have to suspend you."

This is something we already do. It's something we do before we warn people. And to my knowledge In the past however many months, I can only think of 2 people that have had their warning level raised. And one of those two has had it gone back down and removed.
So next time you want me to take the more serious road instead of a PM that just says knock it off? really?
Yeah I asked you because i was trying to be civil, I guess you don't want that given your comments.
Next time I will warn you after consulting with the mods then proceed to TELL you to knock it off.
So much for being the nice guy, I guess when dealing with you Pete, you want me to be a raging prick. That's what I'm getting from your posts.
I don't want to be that way but I mean if you really want that, I'll oblige.
Wow I guess I flipped your switch. I am talking about having a procedure for dealing with these things. Take emotion out of the equation. I am a very passionate guy, but I also am a process manager at work and have spent hundreds of hours writing those very process and procedure documents along with consulting on other projects and processes over the past 7 years. If you have a process and follow it, its not you being the raging prick. You are just doing 'your job'. Get it?
I wasn't going to throw anyone under the bus but in the scenario you just posted where Supra then gave you a warning? That has cause several people to leave. Several people on that "initial list" created of older posters.
Not sure I follow you here. Are you saying that some older posters were asked at times to cool it and took offense, then stopped posting as much?
You all can go **** yourselves cause reading this thread gave me a headache

I have managed 100's of people several timed at an extremely large company. Even if we had a process, which we kind of do, it still would not stop those from getting mad and leaving.
Get it?
Oh, right I get it now. You can't script everything and you are right, it comes down to managing people and their personalities. Sometimes you have to go with the flow of the conversation to bring them off the ledge.
I liken it to George Clooney's character in "Up in the Air". He made a living as a guy that fired people for companies so they wouldn't have to do it themselve. However, even he had certain things he was scripted to say. The rest of the conversation was his personal art of dealing with the person in a vulnerable and fragile state.
I propose all the mods watch "Up in the Air" and learn better conflict de-escalation. I'm just kidding, don't tell me to **** off.
