I read somewhere they are going to make an offer to Maxim Talbot.

And Hossa's contract is still good. 5.2 mil Cap hit. I'll remind you Kopecky just got THREE!

Not sure where I would sit with Talbot. Don't we have similar players already? Maybe someone could explain to me where he would fit with that 5 foot 11 190 lb frame of his. Don't know. He has done nothing to excite me while playing for the Pens. Not sure what he would bring to the Hawks.

I only ment Hossas contract being the worst on the team as far as length goes and the full payout. The 5.2 is a fine cap hit.

Dale Tallon gave Kopecki 3 mil per, based on that, there's no telling how much he'll throw at Richards. Won't Philly also be going hard at Richards?

Yea I figured but thought I'd throw it out. I think Talbots a little feistier than what we have, but am in your corner and not sure on him.

Side note last night at T-birds I said hi to the Hawk tractor for you.

I think if Richards ends up in NY or TOR...he'll get the 8yr-60mil big ticket.

I think if he does a CHI or PHI, wanting to win...he'll be more around the 6mil per tops.

Hawks don't have the cash for him. Our core is here, just build around it. If Morin and Kruger start the season with the team so be it. Please shore up that 4th line. It sucked last year. Grit, Grit, Grit.

Well I want to see what the Sharp extension is going to look like. Is it safe to say that he has set himself up for a 5.5 to 6 mill a year contract? I am not liking how the player contracts seem to be going up with the increase in the cap ceiling.

I am also interested in seeing what Froliks contract will look like. Anyone penciling him in around the 2 million per season might want to bump that up. Campoli also.

While it's nice that the Hawks shed some cap space this year I don't think it has been enough to open the gates for guys like Richards. So I do agree with RK in that sense.

We still have holes to fill which a free agent signing like Richards would only make those holes difficult to fill now and in the future. We would be right back at a Campbellesque type contract. I don't think we want to be there again.

I think the Sharp contract extension is going to surprise some people once it happens and I suspect some bickering about it. All the salary inflation around the league is hinting that it's going to be bigger than what some expect.

P.S. Thanks RK. Best that the Hawks tractor stay withing the family now. I still plan on riding it though...for the T-bird!!

Frolik's base was 850k. I think he's more in the 1.5mil tops. He didn't light it up last year and DT isn't here to pay on future hopes...he had 11g last year. I could see a 2yr-3mil dollar contract

Campoli I could see getting in the 3yr-6mil range...which is a decent bump from the 1.4mil he was getting. He's a 4/5 guy and I don't see teams lining up for him.

Frolik gets 2.5

Campoli gets 2.5 to 3

This is my guess. I think Scotty wants his boys here and he wants them to be remembered as his guys not Tallons.

Frolik is going to be a 25 goal 30 assist guy this season on this club now that the chemistry was found when Bolland returned. Scotty sees this. He will want to secure Frolik.

Campoli gets up to 3 because that is what the market is dictating right now. Honestly Campoli was a fantastic addition here after what must have been a very painful experience on the Island and with the Sens. we got to see what Campoli was really about when on a stronger roster. Other GM's with strong rosters saw also. He's the type of depth blueliner you want if you are a contender. Other than the one flub he made in game 7 the guy was consistent and solid when he came here.

Either way look for at least 5 million cap hit total on these 2 guys. Still need to extend Sharp (he will be 6 million). There's 11 million on 3 guys. That's not leaving room for Richards (who isn't going to sign a one year deal) and still needing another blueline, a 4th line and a physical wing and a depth center that we probably still need.

No to Richards!!! Yes to hole filling!!

I am running that platform in my presidential campaign also.

And I say...no way Frolik gets a 400% raise based on his 11g, as a RFA.

And Campoli...I don't see a team giving him 3mil either. He may ask..and if a team wants to give him the 3mil..depending on the exact dollar..they'd better be willing to give either the 2nd or 1st and 3rd.

$1506,718 - $3,013,433 - 2010 2nd round pick

$3,013,433 - $4,520,150 - 2010 1st round pick, 2010 3rd round pick

Hjarmarsson was younger when offered the 3.5mil/has a bigger upside. Campoli is what he is.

Better than Hjarmarsson?

And are you trying to tell me a team like Vancouver with cap space and who were close but lacked a little bit of blueline depth to overcome injuries wouldn't take interest in a guy like Campoli as an upgrade over a guy like Ballard or Alberts?

Oh wait I hear they just re-signed Alberts. Dumb fucks lol.

Furthermore..because I like arguing with you twat....GM's do pay for potential now. Haven't you been paying attention?

Alberts deal is 1.225per mil..up from the 1mil he made.

Why would Campoli more than double his 1.4mil?

Because he is better than guys like Alberts by 10 fold.

2.5 for Campoli. You are going to be a pissed off Hawks fan come tomorrow when I predict Campoli and Frolik both are signed.

TWAT!!!

Don't make me post a picture.

If that turns out to be the numbers for Frolik and Campoli, grab the pitchforks and torches. I'll lead the charge to West Madison and Stosh's office .

Frolik has little leverage. He's not arbitration eligible and this past season was far from stellar save two games in round one. So he had the two 20 goal seasons in Florida. He did most of that riding shotgun with Weiss and Horton and plenty of PP time with those two. When he didn't skate with them his numbers struggled this past season. The comparable is Setoguchi. Last season after his entry level contract expired, he was signed to a one year deal at $1.7 or 1.8. Add cap inflation to that and the most he should get is 1.9.

How is Frolik going to score 25 goals when he'll be 3rd on the depth chart on the right side? And with 2nd PP unit minutes at best?

Campoli has a bit more leverage as he is arbitration eligible and if he gets a multi-year deal, he'll be giving up UFA years. But he was a bottom pair dman in Ottawa. On the Hawks left side dmen depth chart, he will be behind Keith and Hjarlmarsson(SP?). Three million is a bit too much by about 1 million.

No, no, and no. What's the fit for Kaberle who plays the left point on the PP? Sharp and Keith seem to do a more than capable job in that department. Kaberle barely sees the ice on the PK and for good reason.

Wiz? A lot to like about him but too many times he's out of position or takes himself out of position. He certainly won't upgrade the PK.

Expect the Hawks to move Leddy into Campbell's spot with Hjarlm???son as his partner. That leaves a bottom pairing on the right side for Campoli. Good PK'er, not expensive, a little grit that can eat about 15 minutes.

Montador fits the bill.

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding!

The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired the rights to defenseman Steve Montador from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for the conditional seventh-round pick which Chicago will receive from Florida as part of the Tomas Kopecky trade.
