I see this as a bigger disaster than Andrei Zyuzin.

They tried that once before in the regular season. It lasted about 13 seconds. Kaner is not a center, never will be. It would be a disaster to see him being the pivot in a full 60. Well, 20 or so.

That said, if you are gonna **** around, the time to do it is now, in the preseason. Maybe in practices, scrimmages he isn't too bad. Tough shit, don't do it when it counts.

Pretty much this.

Although I think the team is now thinking of ways to get Saad into the lineup for a few games if not more pre-season games. I am okay with this for the pre-season as I am sure Kane is excited about the change up for fun. But regular season? No lets not go down that road of experiment again.

Just to throw this out there also. It's not a bad idea to play around in pre-season, scrimmages etc with these sort of things. Look at it as a drill in a sense. Give the players something different to see and a different feel of the game which they can utilize. I know these are pros and the example doesn't fit but I wished in many sports I played that I had a chance to feel out other positions before getting thrown back to my regular position. Just for shits an giggles when it didn't count and just to feel out those other positions a little.

**** I am dumb.

The Blackhawks laissex-faire attitude toward the center position is pissing me off.

I think most teams out there have center depth issues (centers are a hot commodity). Ours could be worse just be thankful we do have a guy like Sharp who can play it well. Cross our fingers that Toews and Bolland stay healthy and the team will be fine. If we do lose one of these 3 players then yah we is in trouble. I think most teams can say that about their 3 top centers. Many teams have to worry about losing one of their two centers.

We aren't that bad off. It's not a great position to be in lacking the depth but it could be worse. Sharp is going to have to play center for a large bulk of the season. That's just the way it is and we need to accept it. The guy has proven he can and it's not as if he will never see minutes with Toews and Kane anyways if that is what people are worried about.

Well...there has to be centers 1.Available and 2.Worth money.

Up until the Campbell move this summer, there wasn't much money. I wouldn't want them overpaying a guy just for the sake - after freeing up the money.

I think the idea was Kruger to take one of the 3 spots...and the Hawks have been trying to address it via the draft - but those guys take time to develop.

In order to trade for a top 2 center - plan on Morin, Smith, Leddy....or some better prospects getting moved to get him. Centers are coveted...and moving Beach or Lalonde won't get one at this point and I wouldn't want to see them over pay and get right back in cap hell.

I strongly disagree with moving Kane to center. What really gets me about this is its been how many years since the whole universe knew that this team needs a second line center for Hossa? So then with all the new cap room from the bonus penalties going away, and cap going up, and Soup trade, did we fill our number one hole? hell no. Someone has to explain that one to me.

And for the most part i'm not a fan of moving people out of position. Kane is an elite all star right wing. We lose that by moving him to center. In return we get a guy who, well i can't predict for sure, but he's not going to play center like he plays wing. thats for sure.

The hawks are sitting on almost 4 mill i cap space. time to use it to fill the gaping hole on the team.

The way Kane played and looked tonight he could play every position at the same time.

That kid is going to have a hell of a year if all the health cards play into his favor. Not sure when he became the fastest skater on the team but he sure looked it tonight. What did this kid eat before the game or what did he do in the off season. Not that he was ever a slow skater but he had jet packs on tonight and that puck was glued to his stick. He looked unbelievable.

As did Toews looking like his usual. Some nasty ass power moves he put on display.

This season of Toews and Kane could be the best one yet.

And I don't care if the Wings had a full roster out there. Things that Kane and Toews were doing were things that no full regular roster Wings team would be able to stop.
