I actually never enjoyed hip hop at all until about 8 years ago. Never thought I would enjoy it because the stuff I was hearing was always gangster rap or bling bling shit and yah I just could never relate to that stuff and never liked it. My rap genre tastes are pretty white washed cracker shit I will admit. Guys like Aesop Rock (not to be confused with A$AP Rocky), P.O.S, Doomtree, EL P, Run The Jewels, Beastie Boys, etc etc. Most have a slight metal treble infusion less so "bitches and hoes, guns and respect" heavy bass hip hop.

Everyone has always told me to listen to Tupac and Biggie and that generation if I wanted to hear good hip hop/rap. Never could get into their styles and such even though in the world of hip hop they hold such high positions and influence. I feel the same way about guys like Kanye and Jay Z. Not the styles I like.

Love El-P and alot of the shit that you are into. You ever get into Kool Keith/Dr. Doom/Black Elvis? Great beats and awesome freestyle.

There's so much good shit out there and so much crap. I'm always looking for the next shit.

I'm big on 2Pac and Biggie, Eazy, NWA, Cube, etc. But I always get shit from people I know because I just don't really like Wu-Tang. They're good and all just not my style. I wouldn't change it if it was on the radio but I wouldn't go downloading their shit.

Goddamit son, I don't think any real son of mine can say that shit about the rza, gza and all dem. Liquid Swords? You kidding me???

The truth is this entire conversation likely happened in the 50's... when "Wake up Little Suzy" came out...
Music is awesome for you in the time that you hear it... it means something...

hip hop isn't music anyways in the eyes of the conservative over 50 crowd. It frightens and confuses them much like microwave ovens and well groomed pubic hair.
Im 26 and just don't find it good or entertaining? It does nothing to me. It's depressing and awkward.

See. I'm not saying they're bad, I just can't get into them to the point where I'm gonna listen to them freely. Sorry to disappoint, Dad.

I had the same argument in reverse with my father in the 60's..He couldn't see my connection to the music I liked back then..He was a Bing Crosby man

Tupac could write. A true poet no doubt and I think most song writers no matter genre would attest to that. I tried with all my might to get into Tupac at a higher level I even downloaded his 8000 recordings but for some reasons I can not exlain it just fell flat to me but that was a generation of a lot of sampling (maybe that is the misconnection with me). Probably the same way you feel about Wu-Tang hahaha. Love the Wu-Tang Clan Clan who declare with all their might that if you aren't down with the Wu-Tang then you are a poser. THat's the best.

probably because a lot of it is the type of music you shake your booty to, and you don't need any help with the shaking from what I hear.
It's true!!!

Hell yeah, dude! I may shake from my problems, sure.. But **** yeah I shake it to some good music!!!

The biggest reason I like Tupac was his sheer emotion and I'm just a big fan of him as a person, philosophies, etc.. and like you said his 8000 recordings lol. In reality he actually had I think over 1000 songs. Not all released though, still to this day. He was averaging 3 songs a day in few months. That is insane.

Bings the shit!!! As far as crooners go the Crosby had a voice that even makes me want to remove my panties.

I actually went through a 2 year crooners phase. Love the crooners.

Wu Tang doesn't really give a ****, but I do think their music is genius.

Dickhead.

The fact I'm on your ignore list is pathetic. I legit thought we'd get Chucks(srs)... Jagoff.

No 3loyds/Chucks for you.

So not cool, dude.
