Do it and find out how easy it is. Rap and hip hop when done well takes incredible composition and structure skills. It's not simply about chords and traditional song building. There are indeed incredibly poorly produced and executed hip hop songs with poor lyrics as there are in any other genre of music. I think its great that some people don't relate to hip hop or rap they don't need to but downplaying it as something easy to do and produce? Very few who have said it is easy have ever succeeded at doing it when they have tried.
