I really don't understand why pretentious music fans care so much about this shit. Is Kanye stopping you from enjoying Springsteen and the other "real musicians"? Listen to what you like it's still there for your pleasures.

End of the day this is all very subjective shit. I am not a Springsteen fan myself. In fact I don't relate to a single emotion, message he emits in his song writing nor do I enjoy his composition at all (besides The Wrestler..that was a great fucking song). But I don't go around telling people not to listen to him based on my lack of interest in his music or because I find him very droll and uninteresting. I allow other people who enjoy him and who can relate to him do so. Just don't understand why people ever care where others are getting their music kicks from or where they are spending their entertainment dollars or attentions. This concern always seems to come from garage band musicians or disgruntled musicians who never got the attention they desired themselves.

And don't feed me the BS that other mainstream musicians like Springsteen don't enjoy the added bonus of the attention. Not buying that holier than thou ideals. Levels may be different but it is always there. Bruce himself has done a very good marketing job with his image esp in his earlier days when he broke into the mainstream market.

Also what makes this all so funny is he pulled this act off at the Grammy Awards. The fucking Grammy Awards? Since when were the Grammy Awards simply about the music and the craft of music making and the "sanctity of creativity"? If there were ever a proper place for Kanye to sell himself it's at the Grammy Awards. Actually more so the billboard music awards but both have become one of the same anyways. Good god.

What I would like to see is Kanye to run the stage during a Springsteen concert and spew his spew. Bruce would Honkey Tonk Kanye and music fan or not I think we would all like to see that.

Really? Because everyone I've shown springsteen to who wasn't big into the guy walked away loving his music.

Hey if you can't relate on some level to the Born to Run Album and the angst that comes from growing up in a small town, I get that. If you've never been pissed off of where you were headed and scared of Youre future like in Darkness on Edge of Town... I get it.. If you've never had a bad relationship and Tunnel of Love album doesn't relate to you, then I say cheers n God bless ya for not going through hell.

Springsteen is amazing because it's diverse.

In truth, Dancing in the Dark is one of my favorite songs, lyrically. As is Born in the uSa.

Give him a legit listen sometime. I think you'd walk away impressed. Many who hate just think of born to run and born in the usa, hungry heart.. Etc.

I personally think you'd love the album 'Nebraska' by him.

hip hop isn't music anyways in the eyes of the conservative over 50 crowd. It frightens and confuses them much like microwave ovens and well groomed pubic hair.

WTF? Trolling? I really hope you're trolling.

Frank Sinatra helped co-write a total of 7 songs.

I'm A Fool To Want You (with Jack Wolfe and Joel Herron, 1951)
Mistletoe and Holly (with Dok Stanford and Hank Sanicola, 1957)
Mr Success (with Ed Greines and Hank Sanicola, 1958)
Peachtree Street (with Jimmy Saunders and Leni Mason, 1950)*
Sheila (with Chris Hayward and Bob Staver, 1949)
Take My Love (with Jack Wolfe and Joel Herron, 1950, an adaption from a theme from 3rd Symphony by Johannes Brahms)
This Love Of Mine (with Sol Parker and Hank Sanicola, 1941)

Not exactly his hits.

Vanilla Ice! That's outstanding!

Edited to add: Kanye has written 132 songs, pretty sure he's not done yet. Of those 132 songs I am currently enjoying zero.

Lets be honest here 51

The music for rap isn't very complicated stuff..Its very basic. I've heard rap songs that have a total of 1 chord in them......Its the lyrics that take some skill to write, and most of the lyrics are't very poetic either..Writing 132 of those type songs don't strike me as being that hard to do. Especially if ya have all day to sit around and think about em.

It doesn't frighten me nor confuse me..It just doesn't entertain me. Same thing my father said about the Beatles, and the blues I still play

But you have fun with it if ya like...Its for your generation

BB, the thing about Kanye is he makes alllll his own beats most of the time. That takes the most time. Sampling and building a beat sounds easy and all but it isnt.

Any skilled drummer can give ya 15 different beats in 20 minutes..It doesn't take much to get one

KW's songs are all 4-4 time...How many different beats can ya get in 4-4 time that haven't been used yet?...Not many if any

This isn't early 90's rap. Nobody is using drums to base a beat.

Once again, dont let him being an asshole take away his talents. He's probably one of the best producers of all time in hip hop.

No, was he reallly good. Yes. Not near the best.
