More along the lines of the Jets being r3tard3d. Jets roster is decent and Rodgers won’t make the SB contenders
Yes. They screwed the pooch here. Not surprised though. It’ll backfire for them and fire their GM

Is this really a first round pick? They just swapped. Or I guess you could say that the Packers had to give up a first round pick in order to unload Rodgers... kek

Jets receive:

  • QB Aaron Rodgers
  • 2023 first-round pick (No. 15 overall)
  • 2023 fifth-round pick (No. 170 overall)

Packers receive:

  • 2023 first-round pick (No. 13)
  • 2023 second-round pick (No. 42)
  • 2023 sixth-round pick (No. 207)
  • 2024 conditional second-round pick (becomes a first if Rodgers plays 65 percent of snaps)
And ouch...

The Packers will take on a hefty amount of dead money because of the deal. Over the Cap reported the Packers will taken on just over $40 million in dead money for trading him.

Actually, it could end up being two (2) first round picks:

This represents an interesting trade package for the Packers, as the deal does not contain any protection for the Jets if Rodgers retires after this season. At the very least, Green Bay will receive two additional second-rounders for Rodgers. But the future Hall of Famer has played at least 65% of the Packers’ offensive snaps in all but two of his 15 seasons as a starter (excepting 2013 and 2017). That points to the Packers receiving the Jets’ 2024 first-rounder. Although Gutekunst said recently it would not require a first-round pick for the Packers to unload Rodgers, it looks more likely than not this deal will lead to a future first coming back to the Pack.

Seems like a lot for a 40-year-old quarterback.

It's really not too much to give up for a team that's pretty stacked and was in desperate need of a QB, provided you think you're getting a good Aaron Rodgers. They're playing for this year, maybe next as well. They had no other good way of addressing the one position that was holding them back big time.

Calling it now. Rodgers going to miss 6 games or so to get under the 65% just to spite the Packers.
honestly if that team starts losing Rodgers could just retire. it wouldn't be the craziest thing to happen, especially if he's the reason why they aren't winning.

If they came early enough, they could have traded up to the first pick and given the Bears Sauce, Garrett Wilson, Quinnen Williams, the #13 pick and a second rounder.

It’s basically 2, 2nd rounders for Rodgers. If Rodgers is playing that many snaps, the Jets are likely going deep in the playoffs.

So basically the Packers gave up a first to unload Rodgers and get 2 seconds while swapping spots with the Jets.

Honestly, that’s more than I thought. Not a bad deal for the Packers.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Atlanta United FC
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Georgia Bulldogs
That is decent deal for Packers considering, they absolutely had to unload Rodgers knowing he is not the same QB as two years ago and very fragile. Wish him well, but I'm sure he spend most of the season in IR. The Jets got taken..
