nice way to start a post....

and yes i understand that jordan was somewhat held back at carolina(i dont think he would have been the nation's best player or anywhere close though imo as a freshman)....but tell me with a straight face that jordan could have came out of high school and averaged 20 5 and 5 as a rookie...

and no thats not a knock on jordan.at.all. its just that lebron was physically gifted like no other play we've seen...he was by far the best player in high school as a sophomore...his raw talent was off the charts...jordan became a great player through his talent but also through a great work ethic

i remember reading somewhere that after the summer after his freshman year at UNC..he worked his tail off

and yes...there's not the exposure or AAU stuff that goes on now...but there's still the MCD's AA games....there was still attention towards great high school basketball players...

Once again, stupidity on full display. Yeah, if you want to pick one of them to play football, you'd take LeBron. If you're talking about basketball where theres a greater premium on quickness, body control, concentration, and touch its Jordan. Those athletic attributes are more valuable in basketball than straightline speed and brute strength.

If idiocy was an athletic attribute you'd be an all time great...

The problem is, nobody is talking about football...Lebron is a great basketball player, watch him sometime. Power forwards are not supposed to move that fast, not supposed to have the skill set this guy has. Magic is a better basketball player, not nearly the athlete that Lebron is.

Great athletes play different sports well, Lebron is one of those athletes. He doesn't play basketball like a football player. He plays basketball like a all time great perimeter player...except he is built like Karl Malone!!! What the hell are you watching? Shaq played basketball like a football player, if anybody did play like that. Lebron plays basketball at the highest level...and he is one of the game's great athletes...

And since when was concentration a form of athleticism?

Talking all of this "touch" stuff is silly. He doesn't need to go to a gym and work on his "touch"! He has to get his head straight.

Take your keyboard and throw it out the damn window...and then follow the keyboard...goofball...

I hate that comparison, but I will say this, its all on him. I don't know if it was that way with Wilt. The thing I keep harping on is killer instinct. Its his willingness to defer that is the problem. He has supreme abilities on both sides of the court. People want him to work on his game...I don't see that changing much until he gets his mind right. He has everything he needs right now to dominate basketball. He just isn't strong enough mentally.

His behavior this series was just so damn odd at times though, it was baffling. Game 3 in the 4th with about 4mins to go, Lebron gets a pass from a double-teamed Wade & quickly shovels it to Chalmers then runs out to the half-court line as Chalmers is double-teamed into a TO. Wade berates Lebron on the court in front of the entire crowd for basically giving up on the play.

In Game 6, Miami down 3 with 6mins to go, Lebron gets the ball with Barea on him (that's right JJ "No way in hell am I Six-foot" Barea), ball comes to him he quickly dishes it back out to Wade. Wade throws it back (duh...Lebron you have Barea on YOU!!!), what will Lebron do? a) take him off the dribble & slam it in his face b) turn around and shoot over him; or c) back him down then bowl him over in a ridiculously easy offensive foul call. If you chose c, you're a winner! or in Lebron's case a loser.

Lebron is quickly becoming the new Wilt, a physical freak, who's immensely talented but immensely selfish & immature. Until he takes a good hard look in the mirror & changes that, he will never be put in the same breath as MJ, Magic, Bird, Kareem, Russell etc.

And I think more people are upset with Lebron because he's so incredibly talented yet is so content to skate by with his incredible athleticism & size rather than actually developing his game to make him into a truly unstoppable force.
Yet when I said these exact same things. I got called a basketball Special person, by the resident loudmouth.

I swear I feel vindicated when people go on TV and say the exact same things I say about lebron and his game. And since I don't follow everyone on twitter, I have no idea that they are even thinking those things.

Comparing Jordan to lebron can by boiled down to this.

Player A loves to win

Player B hates to lose

Understanding the difference in these two different mindsets will tell you all you need to know about lebron and Jordan

Yes it was odd, which is why I said mentally something is wrong...its not about his lack of a post game...Hakeem Olajuwan can't fix what is wrong with Lebron by teaching him a post game. We've seen Lebron step up in big moments before...he whupped the Bulls fairly consistently in the clutch. Its mental, not physical...

so wait pure speed and strength and are not that valuable in basketball? Lol? Think about how much strength you need to finish with contact or finish strong at the rim...and concetration LMAO.....that's not athleticism dude....

And do you really not think lebron is quick and has body control? It doesnt seem like he could because he's built like an nba post guy...but he's also as agile as an NBA guard(have you watched lebron?)...that's why he's such a great physical specimen...and maybe i should have said that lebron also was gifted with other great talents besides his physical tools...like his passing and rebounding ability and overall basketball IQ

you seem like a guy that thinks jordan is a basketball god and was gifted with unreal talent at an early age...well i got news for ya...he wasnt....much of what made jordan great was his mental game and work ethic...yes he was an exceptional athlete....but his constant drive made him the best....if michael had lebron's work ethic i dont think he would have been nearly the player he was or even the player lebron is right now...i guess thats a hard thing to predict but thats my opinion

Why is it such a hard concept for people to understand..that lebron is more talented than jordan was....IT DOESNT MEAN THAT HE IS BETTER...it just means he was gifted with more tools but that doesnt make me a better player.....lebron does not the drive jordan has(that and his shooting and post game still need work) and until he fixes those things..he wont even sniff jordan as an all time great imo

oh,btw, you missed my earlier question...tell me with a straight face that jordan could have skipped high school, gone to the league and averaged 20 5 and 5 as a rookie(and yes i know people didnt skip college back in the 80s its a hypothetical)

Just because someone believes something different than you, doesn't make them stupid. I've disagreed with everyone on here at some point, but that doesn't make me or them stupid. We just disagree.

This just in: Lebron James has been traded to the Florida Panthers, where he looks to be wildly successful since there are only 3 periods in hockey.
