I don't think Kerry Wood cares who the GM or the manager is. He just wants to be in Chicago because that's where home is.
The new GM may care that Kerry Wood is on the team is my point.

I don't understand your point Probe. Is it that the new GM would or wouldn't want Kerry on the team?

By then it might not matter. You kind of assume Jim Hendry sticks around until the end of the season since despite the shitacular record of this season's team, he's still here. Kerry Wood is not getting traded unless he actually wants to be. If next season there's a new GM, and he doesn't want to sign Wood to an inexpensive contract, then Kerry either goes somewhere else or he retires. Either way, it's all up to Kerry Wood.

My point is that we don't know right now if a new GM would or wouldn't want KW on the team. He may say that despite the discounted price that he is not worthy having on the roster.

Or he could say the opposite. I guess I just mean to say a lot with the Cubs seem to be in limbo because you don't know how Hendry is going to end up.
