It got mentioned like three times if that. And yes it was a joke. If he had to go so bad he could have held it for 2+ hours. But as someone with a135 iq perhaps that was too obvious for you

I understood that the "had to go" part was a joke, that is not what I am referencing. The part where you were attempting to discredit how dominant of a game it was because the ump had too big of a strike zone.

put him on ignore.

I would but I have two issues

The ignore feature is awful not really an ignore feature more of a spoiler feature

Secondly on some occasions his posts are insightful and I like those

It was fair for both as I was told later. But the strike zone was Huge.

Back in 1998 the saying was don't swing because wood couldn't control it enough not to walk someone. Watch the video. 11 strike outs were balls out of the zone. The ump was calling it that way. It was fair and 100% legit a 20 k game. But don't make it seem like the zone didn't help. It's like denying the wind blowing out during a "homer fest"

I'd be willing to put a large sum of money saying that if anyone truly wanted to research it, every starting pitching performance that has included 10+ K's has been aided by blown calls or wide strike zones.

What's your point?

I find it amusing that many fans who were booing Wood, badmouthing him and who even wanted him released are now "crying" because he's retiring. Doesn't make you look good as a fan. Just saying.

As for Wood, I really feel for the guy. He's one of the classy guys in sports and I wish his career would've panned out with much more success long-term. He had great potential to be a Hall of Famer. His 20K game was fantastic. It was one of the games that officially got me hooked on baseball. It's a shame that he had to retire early and in the way that he did. I was always hoping that he would be a starter on the Cubs' World Series team that would end the title drought. Hopefully he'll stay with the team in some capacity and ultimately get his ring sometime in the future. Best of luck to Wood, a true class act. Wish there were more athletes like Kerry around. He's one of a kind.

Fortunately for you I don't gamble anymore cause you'd get creamed on the wager

It was just an observation/statement of fact. But those that had issues reading made it into

1). I hate wood
2). Woods k performance was nothing
3). The Astros lineup was weak
Etc, etc

98 was magically, but the high point for Wood, imo, was this:

That was the last time I really thought we could win.

So Wood takes Maddux's old role. I think I would rather have Greg in that spot, but it is nice that he is getting a spot in the front office right away.

Because he was 21 when he broke into the majors, and he had an immediate impact at that age makes it seem like he ought to be older.

How is this dude only 34? Seems like he should be much older by now.

He debuted as a 20-year-old. Actually I don't think he had even turned 20 yet.

Oh wait, he was like a month or so shy of his 21st birthday.
