* doing pretty well

Do you get a rise out of raising points about grammar? The effect of this approach doesn't affect me at all. I could quote you Shakespeare too if I wanted to. Sometimes on the internet, one neither cares about, nor wants to write correctly, right? Especially, since it's the realm of omg, rofl, lol, and stfu!

i agree 100%

Rose need to rediscover that midrange game...he used to be great in the mid but his MVP year he started thinking hes a 3 point shooter...now hes thinks hes Ray Allen
Well realize that when his defender has to guard him all the way out to the 3pt line, it gives him so much more options offensively. He can get by most defenders at will if they have to respect his 3. Everyone wished Rose could shoot 3s his first couple seasons. Indeed, it is good for Rose to shoot 3s. However, since he hasn't realized that jumping 30 inches in the air and chucking the ball at the rim is not a good way to shoot 3s, him shooting lots of 3s is a very bad idea. If he could get more arc on his shot, I think we'd see a considerable spike in his percentage. While it probably wouldn't be enough to justify near 6 3s per game, it would definitely justify 4.

oh don't get me wrong im not saying Rose should never take them but 5.6 is a bit absurd

3-4 would be fine but still bring back the mid range game...which he has pretty much ditched

Keep in mind you guys are talking about a player that missed the last two years due to TWO major knee surgeries. When are we gonna cut him some slack? Not too long ago people were saying he was done and making fun of his suits and eating skittles on the bench. I'd say he's doing pretty good. :dunno:

NEVER!!!!

yeah even if the numbers line up he certainty seemed to have more "off nights" this season then his MVP year

partly due to shot selection...no way a 31% shooter should be taking 5.6 threes a game

to put that in prospective Kyle Korver is taking 5.8

To keep things in perspective, ATL also has 7 other guys that shoot 3's and average 32%-50%. Rose doesn't have anyone to dish the ball to like ATL does, it's not even close. It's no coincidence that Rose has his best games when other guys on the Bulls are hitting their outside shots! Yes, Rose has forced some 3's, but that's what your leader does sometimes when the rest of the team can't hit shit from outside.

its all Hinrich's fault

Rose has took quite allot of forced/ill advised 3's lol...but yeah the paint is always packed but he probably should work in the mid range area more than just saying "**** it no lanes let me chuck a 3"

the team is badly constructed truth be told...too many players that like the same area but thats a different thread

Rose averages 30% from three. 46% from two. 80% from the line.

Below average three-pt shooter by 6%. He still scores 9 pts/10 possessions.

Shooting two's, he scores 9.2 pts/10 possessions.

Shooting free throws, he scores 8 pts/10 possessions.

Basically, Rose is basically just as efficient as a pure three-pt shooter as a pure two-pt shooter- only averaging 2 pts more per 100 possessions as a two-pt shooter than a 3-pt shooter.

I don't think his relatively low efficiency has been as big of an issue as his high turnovers this season.

People complaining that Rose takes too many ill-advised shots better not be the same people who wanted Melo.

i wanted him

but if Melo was taking 5.6 3's and several of them being early in the shot clock as a 31% shooter i'd have the same criticism about him...maybe even make a CCS original "Melo was a HUGE mistake" thread

my real problem is he takes those shots knowing hes not a good shooter, if he was 37-40% i could live with the 3's he takes...but 31% and taking them with 20 secs left on the shot clock? nah

my point is: if you chuck shots alteast be good from where you are chucking them

Melo in this case is pretty good from everywhere...maybe even the most versatile scorer in the league

What's funny is he used that 1/82 to prove his cause making it sound like he was stating Rose's 11 turnovers to 1 assist was the norm.

I said nothing about the turnovers. It's all a subset of the same larger issues like poor judgment and trying to do too much on his own.

I count 15/53 games where he shot 35% or lower. The odds are in my favor bro. :bro:

LOL

15/53 isn't good...in case you're not aware of that. I'd also resist pounding my chest on games when he's only slightly over 35%.

lol dude you set the 35% benchmark. I ain't saying Rose doesn't have bad games, but he definitely is not bad all the time. Read the past 2 pages, there's criticisms and suggestions for improvement made by me and others. Far more positive discussion than harping whenever Rose shoots 35%...which is not the majority of the time.
