Kirk is a good player to have around. Heart guy, leadership guy. With Rose hurt, we could have used someone like Kirk against Philly to bring out these intangibles in all of the players that hung their heads. Will his skills and abilities transition to this current squad, at his current level and age? That's the real question. I'm fine with Kirk. but I hope this isn't a distraction from developing Teague and Butler.

if healthy he is dont know if he is healthy. But yes I would love Kirk at 3m a year for the Pacers.

we overpaid Hill by so much I still cant believe it

Hill may have been overpaid, but Kirk is not on the same level as him. I would much rather have Hill than Hinrich right now. Yeah, maybe not for 8 million a year.. but in general.

I'm done puking now, and I've come to acceptence that John Paxsons love child Kirk has returned home.

At least he didn't sign Pargo.

Plus I think Hinrich will be better than he was for the Hawks, maybe because I think Kirk will be much happier here with the massive fan support.

Plus who better to replace Rose for a year than the guy that trained him, Captain Kirk.

I'm.not upset anymore and I. Welcome him back with an extended hand.

I won't even deny it, I have always had a little soft spot for Kirk like the rest of Chicago.

After all, I'm the one that predicted his return first......I should get massive rep points for that...

Welcome Home Kirk.........

P.S, 3 million a year for two years isn't a bad deal.......I give Kirk props for telling the Heat to **** off. :beerbang:

Also, props to Diddy for stating this would happen back in 2010...at least being the first I saw to say it.

Thanks Hou. I won $50 off of one of my friends today because of this signing.

Did anyone hear some life signs from Fred???

Rumor has it that he's isolated himself to prevent himself from killing anyone is a rage. He'll mostly likely be there for the next two years. :lmao:

Fred, Mark, & I just finished a podcast & my ears are still ringing from all the yelling. He txtd me 3 days ago that he would vomit if he had to see Kirk suit up for the Bulls again. I told him to prepare to vomit all season. The show is vintage Fred, as he unloads on all of Kirk's weaknesses & just the overall boneheaded stupidity of the signing. Personally, I think it's really just a unilateral move, as clone said, but with Kirk having the advantage of more starting experience & better bball IQ. Other than that, it nothing more than a fill-in vet til Rose gets back. I'm ok with the move, considering our cap situation, but if this means they match Asik, I am going to flip. Mark is finishing up cutting the cast, so it should be up on iTunes in the next day or two.

Gimme a break! Kirk wouldn't have done JACK for this team in the playoffs this year. We still would've lost the series. Hinrich sucked this season. He had one of his worst seasons of his career.

I'm sick of all this "heart" "glue" "fiestiness" bullshit that I hear about Kirk all the friggin' time! Stepping up when it matters most is what wins series. When, in the entire span of his career, has Hinrich ever risen to the critical moment or made the deciding play? That's right, he hasn't! Enough with all of these quasi-skills that Kirk supposedly possesses that exonerate him from his years of suckitude. I don't hate Kirk, but this guy is the most overrated Bull in the history of the franchise, & that's tough to say considering the amount of overrating drone fans tend to make.

did bleacherbum just say Kirk was on the same level as george hill in another thread?

Yep, clearly he doesn't know the average land elevation of Indianapolis is 717 feet above sea level, and Chicago is only 579 feet.

He just has to be better than CJ, just has to be... Teague's the guy though, I really see him getting serious minuets this season.

It bothers me to see some people would rather have C.J.? Why?

Hinrich is a better player. He can guard 1's and 2's and handle the point (and manage a game much better than Watson) and stretch the floor with his spot-up shooting off of the ball.

I am excited to see how Kirk does with (a) a somewhat decent low-post presence/pick-and-roll/pop option in Boozer [something Kirk never had], (b) under Thibodeau, and (c) along-side Rose when he gets back in MVP-form.

Did Fred just post from your account? That is EXACTLY what I expect to hear from Fred on the podcast when I get around to listening to it...

Is he really? He can guard more positions, yes. He can handle the point...yes. But CJ can't play PG all of a sudden? Everyone is still blinded by one mistake. Over the course of the whole season, CJ was fine. I didn't really hear that many complaints about CJ during the regular season. Everyone forgets also that he was probably playing injured for half the season or more and still ended up producing better numbers than Hinrich (who was also injured, but that puts them on a level playing field does it not?). And CJ shot about 40% from 3 this year. Hinrich shot like 34%. Their career numbers are probably more or less very similar in both FG% and 3pt%. And who can forget when CJ dodged Wade and hit a game winning 3 (I think it was a game winner anyway...maybe game tying)? Hinrich would've been on the bench in that situation probably. So I highly doubt that Hinrich is really a better spot up shooter than Watson. He might be a little better of a PG in terms of getting assists and whatnot, but as a player he doesn't really bring anything that Watson didn't bring except he can guard a couple more positions.

So happy that one of my favorite bulls of all-time is back. CJ is out, and I can see the bulls adding both of Green and Lee or CDR and Lee and Redd by the end of the off-season or in my perfect world all 3-4 of them end up in Chitown.

Hinrichs play really isn't that bad, his minutes have gone down, hence his decline in #s, but he still plays good D still and knocks down the 3 at a good clip (highest 3 pt. % of his career last year). So I'm really happy he's back, and the addition of 3 of the 4 listed above, would make this off-season good and stomachable and could be a sleeper if Rose comes back at 70%+ next year in february (roughly).

Umm...what? Hinrich shot 34% from 3 last year. That's his WORST year of his career from 3. :bizarro:

And no way all those guys end up here...I doubt even one of them lands here honestly.

sorry I saw his first season w/ Atlanta, thats my bad and, CDR was rumored here during the last season, and Redd has been linked to only the Bulls and Suns this offseason and the bulls have been rumored to be in S&T talks w/ Houston for Asik. So yes 2-3 of them are possible, I'm just not sure if they are absolutely certain outside of Redd, I for some reason just see him landing here, as I think he gets only the league minimum from almost any team that offers him something.

So in reality i honestly think 2 of them land here, with Redd being the one I can't shake the feeling that they are going to get.

Yes, Kirk Hinrich is a better overall player than C.J. Watson. I respect C.J. but he cannot take command of an offense as Hinrich can. C.J. is the better shooter but Hinrich can shoot better than the average NBA player. Hinrich hasn't had many clutch moments but he has had some. I just feel like he is the better option to substitute for Rose.

I disagree with the part about Kirk being better than C.J Watson.
They are 2 different players who are better at different things. I for one thought C.J did well for us.
People act like he was brought here to be the starting point guard or somthing.
He was a good asset to have on the bench who when called upon could start for us.
And did a decent job when he did.

However you make a great point about what it will be like for Hinrich playing with Boozer.
It will be interesting to see how Kirk reads Boozer.
I'm not a Hinrich fan, but I'm interested in seeing how Hinrich plays with a decent post up scorer.

I hope Kirk wears the old school style Horace Grant goggles this season.
I didn't like the Danny Schayes style he wore in Atlanta. :troll:

P.S
Welcome Home Kirky Hienycakes :beerbang:

Now I have someone other than Boozer to blame for Bulls losses this season and I'm cutting you absolutely no slack.
:derbulls:
This season may just be enjoyable after all.
