My favorite teams
Kershaw Leek is my every day carry.
My favourite knifes are probably considered moreso to be classified as swords even though they are shorter than a sword but longer than pocket knifes but I like them because they are neat to look at and have on display and also they do sometimes have some practical usages, like for instance my kukri is good for gardening and is great for when I am camping and literally trying to get "off the beating path" and my sai is just cool to look at but I can imagine them coming in handily if i were attacked in the middle of the night.
I carry twin machetes on my hips, twin katanas on my back, and a pair of 5 inch retractable blades on my wrist gauntlets.
Idk why but the Cops keep stopping me.... I thought this was America godamnit.
I don't really understand or relate to this thread. Foreign to me.
You'd be surprised how often having a knife on you comes in handy.
I doubt that.
I should clarify. I doubt that I would be surprised how often it would be handy for me. I have never had a moment where I wished I had a knife. It may be different for others. I'm not criticizing, even it seems I am. Personally speaking, I can't even imagine carrying a knife as an every day carry.
You should watch Forged in Fire. It will keeelllll.
The only 'reality show' I watch. Also makes me have second thoughts about my career choice.
Yep. This is pretty much what I was trying to convey. The one I carry is really slim so I rarely notice it's even there, and the blade can be deployed very easily and quickly with one hand. Just a little pressure applied to the finger thing (not sure what the technical name is for it) and the satisfying "snick" of the blade popping open follows.Knives on your person are as useful as carrying a timepiece of whatever sort. Sure you can get by without one, but it's one of those tools that you constantly use if you are aware of it.
Doug Marcaida is a badass
I don't always carry mine. Maybe 80% of the time. Like you just said, if I'm running to the grocery store or going out to dinner...I probably don't have it on me. Unless I had it clipped in my pocket earlier and just forgot it was even there..I carry sharp things while I am working, because I know I will need them. At home, a sharp instrument is easy to find. I don't see the need, again, for me, to carry one at all times, out to dinner, shopping, etc.
If I'm going camping, or other plans where a knife could be handy, yeah. I guess it was the everyday carry thing that caught my attention. Full disclosure, I have a sharpening tool on my key chain, and it can easily be used to open a box, or whatnot. So, never mind my Canadian ways.
I haven't worn a watch since I was about 14.
Yeah, I guess my point is...that you don't really realize how often it might come in handy until you have one on you all the time. I just started carrying one maybe a year ago and it's been nice having it on me when I need it (pretty much any situation where you'd need to go grab a pair of scissors or a knife). Need to open a blister pack that's being a pain in the ass? Just got a package from Amazon and want to cut the tape on the box? Cut some random piece of string or rope for whatever reason? Maybe a piece of fruit? I'm not saying that these kind of situations happen all the time, but every day uses do pop up. I originally bought it for fishing, then for whatever reason started carrying it every day.
Tl;dr nice to have when you need it
