He isn't the only one involved in the discussion.
I bet he has done the most surgeries lol
He isn't the only one involved in the discussion.
The comparison to maddux wasnt about what they throw or how they threw it, it was about how he mentally prepared for games and thought process on each pitch like maddux did....
The mental part of the game not the actual physical part was compared....
I don't doubt it. That makes him an expert on the surgery and worth the listen as to what may be the cause.I bet he has done the most surgeries lol
I dont think you can even compare him to that. There have been many intelligent pitchers, but no one can touch Maddux. I dont like comparing players like that. It goes to far.

I've looked up more than just Andrews and Fleisig. Pitch count is a OSFA answer. There are other factors involved. You can actually look up what he says, a lot of it makes a ton of sense.
My point was that Maddux never had a season over 8 k/9 and only had 2 seasons over 7 k/9. The fact that you could rely on him to go out and pitch 200-250 innings a season was what set him apart combined with his excellent control.

Then don't take part in the convo then. :dunno: I can't believe some of you guys are still going on about Maddux. Suttcliff said he reminded him of a young Maddux, when Maddux first came up, AND PLAYED WITH SUTT.
I ran with the comparison a little, you know, having FUN, with the W, the 1 BB, and the 2 hits. This is as ridiculous as getting bent out of shape for someone saying, after seeing someone you don't know in public and saying, "that person looks like my best friend".
What would YOU say? "No he doesn't, that's ridiculous, no one else can be your BEST friend, that's so stupid, you must be a Cubs fan?"
Couple of things, Suttcliff is a complete Cubs homer. He has never said a bad word about any Cubs player. Also, the comparison is to much because people will take it far. You want to say Hendricks is a smart pitcher that studies and uses control to be effective, perfectly fine. Comparing him to a guy who is considered one of the smartest players to ever play? Not to smart. Also, people made the same comparisons to Randy Wells. It was dumb at the time and really dumb where you look where he is now. Let the kids play and stop comparing them. They are individuals. They have enough pressure with the over emotional fan base that is Chicago. They dont need added pressure by people throwing out random comparisons.
Dude, the only one going on and on about it is you. Hendricks has already laughed off the comparisons himself. The kid just pitched his 4th game!
He wears his socks like Vida Blue, tucks in his shirt like Catfish Hunter, and licks his fingers like Sparky Lyle. WTF is your problem? Shouldn't you be reading about Cooks or something? Instead, you want to go on about Greg Maddux? :dunno:
Well, I see you cant have a discussion without freaking out. Good day.
Well, when you keep going on and on about Maddux...yeah. I was the one who mentioned Maddux, so you would think your comments were directed at me. Yet, you seemed to be the only one really taking it too seriously. Now I'm the one that can't have a discussion? I/we tried to explain that no one was really expecting him to be the next Maddux. Yet you keep talking about it. Go figure.
Oh, and you remind me of one of my old GF's, she always took things too far!
Meanwhile, I'll continue to be excited about the young prospect, assuming he keeps doing well.
I wouldn't just catagorize cubs fans who compare their young players to vets. .. all teams fans do it and even former players and sports personal on ESPN MLB Network ETC ETC do the same thing..Congrats. No one said different and I liked Hendricks before half of yall knew who he was. I am not knocking him at all and always believed he would be a solid 5 in a rotation. My point is over emotional Cubs fans do this to so many players that it gets ridiculous. Cubs fans compared Randy Wells to Greg Maddux. Felix Pie to Carlos Beltran and o so many more. My suggestion is watch and enjoy them and stop putting labels on them.

Hey Pal, I'm just tired of fuckin people like you calling me over emotional, unintelligent, and any other shit that spews from your mouth. I'm sure I played the game better than you ever dreamed about playin it. **** You! Who the **** are you to call me over emotional!
Go lecture your fuckin kids or something, but as long as pricks like you keep labeling people like me cuz I like the Cubs, I'm gonna get in your face.
