There are tons of pictures and shit on there I'm kinda concerned about them.
Thanks for all the help guys, I'm going to bring it in to a more a knowledgeable person. There are tons of pictures ... on there I'm kinda concerned about them.
I know this sounds silly, but trust me here, if the same thing happens trying to enter safe mode, try removing the battery and replacing a few times.
No worries. From what you describe the files are easily recoverable by attaching the drive as a secondary to another computer.

This.
Unplug the laptop and take the battery out for 5-10 minutes. The goal is to completely drain the power, so with the laptop still unplugged (and the battery still out) hold the power button down for 10 seconds.
Then replace the battery, plug the laptop in and fire it up.
I actually had to do this on my smasung three phone. It just completely stopped working one day. As in it shut off and wouldnt power on. I read an article that said remove the battery for 5 minutes and it may power right back on. I had already removed the battery, just not long enough. Well removing the battery for a few minutes actually worked and it powered on, made no fucking sense to me.
Yep. Your data should be fine. It's probably either a boot sector issue like Jester said or some other hardware problem.
LOL. This is why I hate working in the computer industry, sometimes crazy shit like this work and it never makes sense why.
For the record, Laptop hard drives are easy to pull out much like the memory.... and they can connect to another computer through the same interface they connect to the laptop with, likely a SATA connection. I have pulled hard drives from laptops and plugged them in to my desktop at home to recover stuff many times from my own or other people's dead laptops.
As long as the hard drive is not damaged, your data is safe.
Really do recommend a repair install of the OS, I would bet it goes back to normal without the need for a format of the drive or anything like that.
Compaq killed HP's culture and quality imageThe battery removing thing is a quirk that infested HP laptops when they merged with (fucking) Compaq.
Shoildnt more folks agree with me ?
