Got married there. Stayed at the Frontier. I think they blew it up since then. We got to stay in a suite because they didn't have a regular room.

My wife made enough in nickel slots and black jack to buy us a few dinners and see some stand up at the tropicana. We just missed Carrot Top and were a day from being able to see David Spade. I would have really enjoyed Spade.

We saw a very large man walking down the strip yelling at someone no one else could see. He even said "no one else sees you, but I see you".

Not much on drinking or fanning but really enjoyed the sites. The Belagio was really cool. Also went to an old car exhibit.

Going in a couple of week with my wife for our 4th anniversary. Staying at the Rio. Only shows we're guarenteed to see are Zarkana and Evil Dead: The Musical (Splatter Zone Seats FTMFW!!!!!)

She's never been and I passed through when I was 18.

If you're staying at the Rio go see Penn and Teller, that's where their show is. Super fun.

We were planning on it...except Penn and Teller are on Broadway in NY for the month of July. Fail.

Definitely doing the steak for sure. Looking forward to it.

I have eaten at most of the top steak houses in Vegas but the best ribeye i ever had was at the steak house in Circus Circus. Its so weird too because walking through CC is like walking through the most trashy walmart ever..., but that Steak House has been voted one of the top in Vegas for a reason.

I spend over 150 days a year working in that cesspool. I do communications for a major company and many of the strip properties are customers of ours. Want to lose your money quickly? Gamble on the strip. If you want a fair shot gamble at places like the 7Seas on the corner of Flamingo and Paradise. Find out where the locals gamble. Want to see a great show for 45 bucks? Raiding the Rock Vault at the Flamingo. Want a cheap but nice room? The Plaza downtown recently remodled all their rooms and are like 30 dollars a night. July is the worst possible time to visit because it will be 114 in the shade. Don't care if it is a dry heat....it is still miserable. Now if you want to look at eye candy you must go to the Hard Rock at about 5 or 6 PM on a weekend night. Ahhhhhh...the stories I could tell

Better have a 100.00 with you if you eat there. But the steak is amazing. It has won numerous awards for best steak in Vegas.

Drinking pool side in Vegas, in July? I love it. Look into a cabana, they cost more than hotel rooms but are awesome. Back in the day (like 15 years ago) you could get a cabana for $150-$200 a day, from about 10AM to 7PM. Big screen TV, ceiling fan, water misters, waitress service, stocked fridge. Stocked with water, juice, candy, fruit, I would take some of that shit out and replace it with beer and mixers. Lay out in the sun or in the cabana, it is the only way to spend a whole day at the pool in July. Unless you get to the pool at 7AM and try to reserve some chairs in the shade, even then the chair reservation thing is dicey at best (depends on the pool rules) and the sun moves so you lose your shade. If we were in Vegas for a week we would do 2 days in a cabana, parts of the other days at the pool. 3 or 4 hours is about all I could take in that heat, and the drinks really cost at the pool. Unless you stock your cabana fridge with your own drinks

Now a days, they give most of the cabanas to high rollers, it's tough for a low roller to even rent one and they are more like $500-$1000, which is crazy unless you have Rush money, oh wait....

If you have a casino host, talk to them, if you have any kind of a comp coming ask, maybe you get lucky and get a weekday. Some places also split half days. It never hurts to ask a host for shit, you never know.

One last suggestion that will get blasted, Golden Nugget downtown. I know DT sucks! But GN is a nice place with a great pool and you can get a cabana there for 300-350 on a weekday. If you really want the full on, all day drinking at the pool, Vegas experience, that is the place.

Unless you are a high roller, in which case you know more about this shit than I do.

Yeah, things have changed a lot since 15 years ago. I was in Vegas about a month ago for a bachelor party, and we rented a private cabana at the Cosmopolitan's dayclub for around $8,000. It was split among 15 people, so not as bad, but still extremely pricey. We got a cabana with all the fixings and it came with a private infinity pool. Initially, our host would pick out the hottest girls there and bring them to our cabana, but eventually girls, and I mean legit 10's and model types (also about 20 years younger than me, lol), would just walk in the cabana or jump into our pool. It took absolutely no effort on our part. I would be just sitting there and all of a sudden girls would just sit down next to me. And most of them had boyfriends/husbands but were down to do anything, luckily for my wife I'm too faithful.

As for dining, I've said this in multiple threads before, but the Bacchanal buffet at Caesar's is my favorite. Also, I heard that Wicked Spoon at Cosmopolitan is great.

I'm actually going to Vegas tomorrow night through Sunday. I dislike Vegas now, but Wifey wanted to get away for the weekend, so we decided on that. We're going to the Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson show. Anyone been?

Me, too. I really wanted to see them this weekend, but they're not back until August. I heard it's a great show.

See the show Absinthe. Best show in Las Vegas. And don't forget to visit my old restaurant, Mon Ami Gabi!

Im sure CC is cheap but no thanks, Im not staying there. NYNY, MGM, & Belagio have all been very good though.
I wouldn't recommend staying there to anyone who doesn't really love clowns. Literally anywhere else would be better.

I think what my wife and I will do in the future is plan an off-season weekend trip to see them sometime in the future--both of us are huge fans of them and loved their show Bullshit. Airfare from PDX to vegas is fairly cheap so it's not like it will break the bank.

Kinda sucks for our anniversary trip but ya gotta make the best of the situation.

Cancel that reservation, the RIO sucks. Much better options mid strip (Ceasars, PH, Paris, etc.) that are much better and probably cheaper while being in the middle of everything. Everyone I know that has stayed at the RIO has had housekeeping steal shit. They actually shipped us a bunch of our stolen goods from the housekeepers after a bachelor party trip.
