I did see Cher in Vegas a few years back... I think she was like 64 or something... she came out in a body sock and an Indian head dress... Looked like a 17 year old cheerleader... She did say that was once an hour of aerobics back in the day was four hours a day now... either way I was impressed....

Vegas is great to visit... we stayed at the Luxor or something... it was Vegas... my memory is fuzzy

Of course that doesn't have anything to do with where the shade is. But you probably knew that.

As for dining, I've said this in multiple threads before, but the Bacchanal buffet at Caesar's is my favorite. Also, I heard that Wicked Spoon at Cosmopolitan is great.

I just tried Wicked Spoon this morning and I liked it, but I think Bacchanal is a lot better. Bacchanal has a much wider selection and quality is as good as you can get for a buffet.

I'm actually going to Vegas tomorrow night through Sunday. I dislike Vegas now, but Wifey wanted to get away for the weekend, so we decided on that. We're going to the Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson show. Anyone been?

Not a big fan of vegas or cirque, but my wife is. We stayed at Mandalay Bay the one time I went there and I heard folks exiting the theater talking about how much they enjoyed the Jackson show, though, again, not my cup of tea. I did see the cirque show LOVE, and enjoyed that. I had stopped listening, pretty much, to The Beatles after John Lennon died, so to hear two hours of the Beatles with an unbelievable sound system was a pretty emotional experience for me.

We saw Cirque's Michael Jackson show last night, and all I can saw is WOW! I'm not a Cirque fan (I've actually fallen asleep at a couple other shows), nor a MJ fan, but this was one amazing show. It was entertaining from start to finish. The Billie Jean segment was amazing, and there was a realistic hologram of MJ during the Man in the Mirror segment, which actually made it seem that MJ himself was there performing. The whole theater gave standing O's at the end. This is a little different than a typical Cirque show in that there aren't as many crazy acrobatic sequences, but this is still the best Cirque show I've seen. I haven't seen the Beatles one yet, but I heard that one's great also.

To the OP, book this show and you won't regret it.

Definitely as crazy as movies make it out to be. Went with a pretty rowdy group and came back with plenty of stories to be told for years. Crazy how it is a 24/7 type deal and when you go to sleep....Vegas keeps going.

Did the strip club, night club, gambling, 5 star steakhouse scene. Won $1,200 playing Blackjack, dipped down to $400+, and built it back up to $1,200 again. Ate at Tom Colicchio's Craftsteak restaurant the final night and had some bomb ass Wagyu steak.

I met Chris Duhon the night before at the Wynn Casino. Spent most of my time at Caesar's, didn't get a chance to do a show, really wanted to see Absinthe but that will have to be on the schedule for the next trip out there. Interesting note, a group of 7 guys and we collectively drank about 5 beers the entire trip. It was a liquor induced shitshow the entire time. Nobody had a hangover because we were never asleep long enough to sober up.

Cancel that reservation, the RIO sucks. Much better options mid strip (Ceasars, PH, Paris, etc.) that are much better and probably cheaper while being in the middle of everything. Everyone I know that has stayed at the RIO has had housekeeping steal shit. They actually shipped us a bunch of our stolen goods from the housekeepers after a bachelor party trip.

Didn't have a single problem whatsoever. Grated, it did help that we never had housekeeping in our room and anything of value over $5 was locked in the room safe.

Concerning our trip, though...I will say this:

If anyone here is planning to go to Vegas, and they have a twisgted sense of humor: See "Evil Dead: The Musical" and sit in the splatter zone.
