I'm getting excited! I hope we do something big. But I hope that something big does not
Include moving Kane.

I think the real question about this offseason is why no team has come calling for Huet's rights. Huet's rights for M. Subban?

Makes sense to me, Bowman should get it done.

Just curious why you think anyone would have any interest in Huet, particularly Montreal. You'd think they'd seen enough of his act.

You missed the sarcasm...

Also, you are thinking of PK Subban, The M refers to Malcolm Subban.

On top of that, Huet actually played really well in Montreal.

Steve Montador
has recovered from a concussion and will be ready for the start of training camp. The 32-year-old missed the last two months of the season with the injury. He has been a subject of some trade rumors and obviously a return to full health is a must if Chicago is to trade him. "I feel like a whole new man," Montador said. "I'm as excited to get this season started as any other, if not more so just because I feel like I'm clear and healthy more than I've been in years. That's really exciting for me." (Source: Chicago Tribune)

Jonathan Toews
let Patrick Kane know that the team is behind him after pictures surfaced of him intoxicated on Cinco de Mayo. "I just texted him to kind of let him know that the guys on our team, we're behind him," Toews said. "He's been through some tough things. Obviously, it's arguable if those things happen for a reason or not. I think he's still learning. (Source: Chicago Sun-Times)

Stop that. :fist: :D

They need a Churchill smiley to go with the Hitler one ... it can go with statements like this one:

Never give in, don't ever give in....

Just saw that from Kuc.

If I remember correctly, Doan and Toews were roommates during the World Championships when Canada won gold.

I would love to have Doan on the Blackhawks and if he did, it would pretty much leave Kane as the 2C.

I agree that I'd like Doan, just not sure which problem that solves.

Yeah. I'm fine with Kane at 2C. Thought he did a good job last year while there. Tons of assists even if he wasn't scoring.

But that just makes the Hawks even more top-heavy. Need a player or two who can play 3rd line well and score.

if its for a year. i guess fine. still doesnt do much for the hawks except a little bit on the PP. 36 year old would be typical of the hawks. They need someone that is a bit more explosive. Not sure this type of signing propels the hawks. If they trade bolland, stlaberg, and hammer with the goaltending we have, ehhh not good. We than would have to rely on career numbers out of hossa (which we still have no idea about) and patrick kane would have to improve....all this with no depth on defense, 3rd line, and a bad goalie combo. could be a long year.

I don't see how that would happen. I don't think they'll trade Stalberg. Good asset for the tiny amount of money he's being paid. Also don't think Bolland will be traded because as much as you Bolland haters think Kruger will be good there, I don't think the Hawks have someone who can be a good 3C like Bolland is.

Hawks need a wing for the 3rd line, defense, and then they can worry about trying to find a player for the top lines.
