Hawks need more than one solid d-man. Oduya doesn't count.
Just face it. Parise will be wearing a hawks sweater this upcoming season and when we make it back to the cup finals everyone will forget how we needed a "tough big physical" forward.
Hawks have like 8 mil in cap space..they aren't signing Parise.
Just saw on PSD, and then did a search on my own, that Evander Kane supposedly does not want to re-sign (a Rfa) with Wpg. If true, the Blackhawks should be giving them a call, as many teams would, because E. Kane is exactly what the Blackhawks need. The Blackhawks do have a history though with Wpg so it may be a possibility.
What would you trade for him? For me...
Stalberg
Saad
A 2nd rounder
The haul for Kane would be ridiculous, I think. What you listed probably isn't even enough.
Luckily his RFA status should, key word, knock that value down.
Hawks have a connection with Wpg, so who knows. Maybe they are a fan of Hammer.
1) dmelt is a better poster now
2) hawkwriter is............lost?
2) this thread is full of fail
3)tbo41fan, you are right, they arent coming here....dont be surprised if the wings land both of them.
Would you do a hammer and pick for kane swap?
Id be tempted.
Also this deal would eliminate the chance if adding a 2nd line center. 2nd line would be..
Kane-Kane-Hossa
Nice

If you trade guys with the ridiculous cap hits like Frolik or hammer or Bolland or all three you have plenty of cap room to sign Parise.Hawks have like 8 mil in cap space..they aren't signing Parise.
Im lost and this thread is full of fail? So I'm lost because in my few last posts I bring up some free agent possibilities and talk about E Kane? Guess I should just try to cut people down in the forum with tactics and just dodge the hockey talk.
Get over yourself and attempt to talk hockey, mod.
admitted that slipping to the second round of the 2011 draft motivated him to be a better player. "I'd be lying if I said it didn't do that (put a chip on his shoulder)," he said. "But, when you're slipping a little bit like I did, you realize you have work to do. It was disappointing, but I was still happy to be drafted. And then I went to work." He skated in two regular season games and two playoff contests with the Blackhawks in 2011-12, while putting up excellent numbers in junior hockey as well. He should be a player to watch at training camp and he has definite value in keeper leagues. (Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review)
who underwent surgery back in January to reconstruct the ACL in his left knee, has resumed skating. "(Carcillo) is close to 100 percent," GM Stan Bowman said. "He would certainly be ready to roll even if training camp were to start in a week or two." He appeared in only 28 games with the Hawks in 2011-12, while recording 11 points and 82 penalty minutes. He should be able to provide points and PIMs next year if he is given a regular roster spot by Chicago. (Source: Chicago Tribune)
The 2012 NHL Draft is just a few days away and trade rumors are heating up. Ever since the cap era started the NHL Draft has served as a second trade deadline of sorts. Several big names are said to be available…Rick Nash, Roberto Luongo, Jordan Staal, Bobby Ryan, and many others. I decided to take a look at all the centers that are supposedly available and which centers the Blackhawks should try to obtain. With a weak free agent pool when it comes to the position, the Blackhawks may have to solve it through trade. Here are my top 3 candidates, in order of best fit, along with 2 honorable mentions.
Jordan Staal
The Pittsburgh Penguins are reportedly looking to deal the big centerman because of their depth and his unrestricted free agent status at the end of the year. Staal is a big body who would mark off many of the team needs. He can win faceoffs, kill penalties, play 2nd line center, is a big body, play on the power play, and just about do it all. Staal will be a hot commodity if he is in fact on the trade market and the Blackhawks will surely be in on the festivities…but so might twenty other NHL teams.
Steve Ott
A bit of a wild card on this list, he is probably going to be the least skilled player of the five players that will be mentioned. However, the Dallas Stars were supposedly looking to trade Ott last trade deadline and he could possibly be pried away with the right offer. Ott is second on my list for several reasons. He has a low cap hit of $2.95M, is aggressive, plays with an edge, is great at the faceoff dot, and will help with special teams. The only question would be…who plays the second line center position? The Blackhawks would be left with three players that “could” play second line but nobody really knows. These other two would be Patrick Kane and David Bolland.
Paul Stastny
The Colorado Avalanche are supposedly having conversations with several teams about Stastny and they aren’t afraid to pull the trigger on a big deal as we have seen in the recent years. Stastny has the largest contract of $6.6M a year but he is a true second line center and could even be a first line center on many teams. He would definitely help with scoring and solidifying the position, but would leave other areas of need open still. With that being said, I don’t think anyone would mind Stastny on this team especially if the Blackhawks are able to send money back.
Honorable Mentions
Brandon Dubinsky
Dubinsky has a large cap hit and is coming off a poor year. He is still young and can kill penalties. If he can find his scoring touch than a team might get a bargain on him regardless of his annual cap hit.
Derick Brassard
The Columbus Blue Jackets will be going through a lot of changes this off season with Nash clearly on the market. Depending on who is brought back in a potential Nash deal, Brassard may be expandable. Brassard has the skill to be a second line center but has never put it all together.
Who would you want to be the Blackhawks second line center next year? Try and remember cap hit and how much it would cost in terms of players/prospects/picks to trade for these players.
