Lions fans aren’t taking the Ben Johnson news well.

Lions fans live in la la land where they believe this guy would gladly be paid less to be a coordinator... or... he'd be so loyal and want to remain some kind of legend in Detroit by not going in the division. Delusional...

This is a business. You get as much money as you can and you go to the best situation you can to increase your odds of succeeding. That's all it's about.

To be fair you had some Lions fans like @nc0gnet0 insisting Johnson would not take a job in the North out of respect for Campbell. Not only did Johnson take it, he now is rumored to be making more tham Campbell.

Lions fans talking about loyalty and Ben Johnson be like

I like this comment:

“Ben has the advantage with Fraley.
Ben can offer Fraley the OC title and still call plays and run the offense. That’s why he hired an ex-head coach as DC that can mange that entire side of the team.

Dan would have to promote Fraley to OC and Fraley isn’t ready to run an entire offense or call plays.”

Any Lions fan who had the opportunity to take their salary and multiple it by 10 by changing jobs (or whatever increase Johnson is getting as HC) would jump at that chance. This is the way of the NFL. It's a compliment to the Lions organization that both of their coordinators are HC candidates this hiring cycle.

Lions coaching staff realizing now what McVay already knew - you are not going to win a Superbowl with Goff as your QB. And they are bailing to find business elsewhere.

And actually, losing Glenn might be a blessing in disguise for them at DC. Depending on the replacement of course.

Guys, this is what I mean when I say Bears fans are actually some of the least delusional fans in the league.

Look at how in that thread, there’s like one guy who says, “Guys, of course he’s going to go to the best situation for him regardless of division/loyalty to Campbell.”

Everyone else just assumed he would stay in Detroit or forsake his future for a guy he’s only known a few years.

We’re all message board idiots, but I’ll easily take the average CCS’er over basically any other team’s average fan. Fans are fucking idiots.

They think caleb is a giant bust and was as "bad as possible" so thats why they assumed ben johnson didnt wanna go there

They must have turned off a good chunk of those lions games.

Would solve the Morgan issue as well.

They're also all about Johnson losing their last game. He didn't throw those 4 pics or lose a fumble. His O gained over 500 yards and scored 31 points with 5 lost possessions. Goff succumbed to zone with pressure again. It's why the Bear always did better against the Lions than you'd expect.

Don't be surprised if Goff takes a big step back next year.
