Why does this matter if anyone supported Emery? The fact is, Phillips hired him and he was absolutely terrible. Are you really trying to defend the decision based off some people on a message board thinking it was a good idea too? It was an atrocious hire and Phillips was responsible for it.

I hated the Emery hire, and Trestman as well and I will tell you why it matters.

At the time of the hire of Emery, most on here loved him. Then he had his first draft. According to these same people he killed it. This went on day in and day out. Then the Bears were one of the top ranked offensive teams year 2, they loved him even more. Every individual move. Then in year 3 it all came apart. Those same people wanted him and the guy who hired him fired for bad decisions.

If you are gonna run your mouth like a genius you pay the price when wrong. You can't turn around and say those were bad decisions when you were agreeing with every move.

Only the McCaskey's would be dumb enough to hire an accountant as team President. And keep him there for decades - despite a never ending slew of failures. The fact he still holds title of Team President after botching Soldier Field's reconstruction is mind blowing.

We've witnessed one embarrassment after another. Does anyone remember the botched Dave McGinnis hiring? They basically sent out a press release announcing his hiring -- only he never agreed to the deal. LOL. Only an organization as unprofessional as the Bears would do that. Two days later, we hired Dick Jaron. We followed a failed move with an even more spectacular failure.

Does anybody remember the 2011 NFL draft when Jon Harbaugh blasted us for being such an unprofessional organization? We agreed to a trade and then intentionally stalled calling it in to the league - later claiming it was a mistake. Harbaugh said the "mistake" was laughable and we were acting with malicious intent and deceptive practice. LOL. Only the Bears.

Jaron, Wanny, Mark Trestman, Fox, Angelo, Pace, Emery, etc. Our playing tough is the NFL's worst. Our stadium is the smallest in the league and already out dated. Our draft picks have been consistently awful. We, as an organization, have failed at such a colossal level -- its incredible. This will now be the third time we've hired a firm or consulted with an outside entity to over see our hires.

We suck on a profound level. Hopefully Gov Rauner can intervene and sentence Mike McCaskey and Ted Phillips to prison where they belong.
