Me too, but cold war spy shit is where its at.
No shit. Ever read the company or harlot's ghost or tree of smoke?
The company and harlot's ghost are especially amazing imo, tho the wife thought they were boring.
Supposedly they are more real than nonfiction is allowed to be cause there is just enough fiction included that they didn't get censored. And names are changed and people combined and whatever. Philby is in both of them. And the american counter intelligence master guy too.
Yeah, thats him, Angleton
btw, I meant the company by Robert Littell
Just finished Falling Skies. Freakin love that show. I'm glad I'll get to see the final season live, well first run I mean.
Started watch Defiance. It's ok too. I've got Amazon prime and I'm going through a lot of the free stuff. Rewatching Carnivale too. They should have let them do at least one more season. The people had an entire six season plan.
This is my first time in this thread, so not sure if this has been discussed yet, but was anyone into the Twin Peaks series from the '90s? It's become relevant again because they're developing a new one that will be aired on Showtime. For those of those that don't know, Twin Peaks (written and directed by David Lynch) was a short lived, but popular show about a detective trying to solve a murder in a small town in Washington. What I loved most about the series were the quirky characters, who seemed innocent enough at first, but you would eventually see their dark sides. There were clues revealed in every episode and it had viewers on the edge of their seats, trying to figure out who the murderer was. It was also probably the creepiest show I've ever seen on TV. I was in high school at the time and I actually had to shut off the TV a couple times if I was watching it alone. The show gained a huge cult following, and I'm looking forward to the new series.
In an amazing coincidence (or maybe not???), there was a scene where the murdered character stated, "I'll see you in 25 years." Guess what... that episode aired in 1991 and the new series will air in 2016, which is... 25 years!!
Anyway, here are a couple creepy scenes from the show.. watch it at night while you're alone... I guarantee it will creep you out. The dancing midget who speaks backwards still gets me to this day. I think I'm gonna rent/buy the series again b/c I've forgotten most of it.
Just like how The Walking Dead is really going downhill according to some people....
