let's be real fellas... adding Bennett while subtracting Peppers does not make our defense BETTER... only younger. If we wanna fix this thing we're going to have to do it in the draft

My favorite teams
  1. New York Mets
  1. Houston Rockets
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Oklahoma Sooners
Bob LeGere ‏@BobLeGere 9s
So much for #Bears "expecting" to sign Michael Bennett. He re-ups with #Seahawks for 4 years and "around $34M" according to @AdamSchefter.

time to focus on DT, get houston, joseph, mitchell, jones on the phone, if the bears get good pressure on the inside it will take pressure off DE's and allow for a smoother transition while the D is being rebuilt

What a jagoff. I think Martellus really wanteed Michael here in Chicago, didn't seem at all Michael gave a shit.. That's dissapointing and I'm sure on some levels, hurts.

That doesn't change the fact that the Raiders have him playing out of position. He's a prototypical 4-3 UT, and very likely a Pro Bowler if he ever gets a chance. Why pay him FA money to play 2/3rds of his snaps at LE instead of the position he's most suited to?

I agree, he has the size, strength and quickness to be a really good UT.

lol That'd be awesome.

Say what you will whoever said crap about "this isn't a playground" yada yada yada. I think taking more money on a team that was one game away from the playoffs with top 5 O in league and a D that was horrible injured and should be better. But more importantly, being able to play with my brother would be extremely important and awesome. Especially when Martellus seems like the guy who REALLY wants this to happen. I feel bad for him.

Versus a team that just won a Super Bowl and is poised to compete for others in the future? Sorry, I would tell my brother, it was a nice dream but I want titles. This is a career. I would never make career decisions based mainly on what my brother wants.

Suppose Michael came here just for his brother, doesn't like it here and pretty much wishes he was back in Seattle? That's a recipe for disaster. Then when fans or people get on his case because he is not performing then Martellus gets involved and you pretty much wreck the morale of two players for the price of one. If he is to come here, it needs to be because he thinks it's the best fit for him not because his brother wants it to happen.

I think Michael was just comparing the organizations, and let's be real...we're not even close to being on the same tier as them. I'd view us with suspicion too if I was an outsider.

Going from Seattle to us is like going from us to Jacksonville. We'd turn our nose up at a FA going to Jacksonville too

If you never got excited in the first place then you probably aren't too upset.

Go get some good value FAs that fill some gaps and move on. If you are building your dynasty through free agency then you only have 1-2 seasons until the repo man comes collecting.

We were trying to put together a dream team, Pegger.

Counterpoint: Martellus knew the whole time that Michael wasn't coming here and was just helping his brother drive up his price tag.

(I don't necessarily believe that, but we have no idea what went on.)
