You can tailgate theree. Not sure you would want to though. Just letting y'all know.
Jacko, you sound like you're suffering from post traumatic stress disorder from your trip to Philly last week. How bad was it? Show the courtroom on the dolly where the evil Flyers fans touched you. :D
Slight change of plans. We've upgraded from the Econo Lodge to suites at the Ritz Carlton downtown. Don't ask me how, I have no idea, I just go where I'm told.

I'm bringing the jersey and its gonna be a game time decision. But, just heard a story about a fan getting sucker punched in the bathroom and considering I have a notoriously small bladder and the seats we have have access to a free bar that could spell trouble for me in my #88 red. :confusion-seeingstars:

Has anyone decided on a place for the pre-party?
Just take your jersey off to go to the bathroom and put it back on when you get back if you're that concerned about it. Problem solved :)

Eeek... I know it's a clinching game and everything but if the Hawks won the Cup I would literally be scared for my safety in Philly... good luck to all of you, you're going to need it.

I am just gonna say it was probably better the Hawks lost that day. When fans are grabbing a woman and yelling in her ear and spitting on her the entire time, after a loss, I can only extrapolate what would have happened if they won.

If I were going, I would wear the Indianhead proudly. None of the on and off shit. They are gonna know you are Hawks fans anyway.

WHat the hell, go all out. It doesn't happen all that often.

Get and Uzi and a bulletproof vest and you should be fine.

I have an idea for a poster to hold up in the Philly end during the pre game skate. It will have the Tribunes picture of Chrissy Pronger wearing a skirt and underneath it will say, GOT PUCKS ?

The Wachovia Center has a block party that starts at 4pm. Supposedly with Chicago-style hot dogs. The Pavilion is open at that time, too. You can go in to the air conditioning, grab some Chickie's and Pete's food/cheesesteaks there, too. They had $4 beers last game. That's all on the side of the building facing the football stadium. When I was in there last game, all the fans were super nice. Beware, it's a false sense of security. It's nice if you want to be there early and not worry about fighting crowds later.

If you're driving, you can either park in one of the lots immediately connected to the Center, or across the street at the football stadium. I parked across the street and was out in no time without traffic because the baseball crowd was gone long before the game was over. It's $15 wherever you go.

Face for non-season ticket holders for the uppers started at $225 I believe. A lot of them had to add on a $50 food/merchandise credit, or an all-you-can-eat bracelet. The $375 uppers/$450 lowers came packaged with a Lexus Club deal, which is admission to the concourse-level club with a buffet/beer/soda.

All I BEG of you guys is to please, please be careful, and travel everywhere with a friend. I know it sounds like we're all paranoid and over-exaggerating, but that place gets nasty, with rioting possible, and I don't want to read any horror stories in the paper. The security guards are less than worthless, so remember, even if you aren't at fault/acting in self defense, they're going to blame you. Get home safe.

Fucking pathetic... I swear if any **** suckers were blocking the door like they did to you I would request security... if security laughed it off I would get their badge numbers and go straight to the suits and have a nice long chat... maybe even with police in the area. Just take cell phone videos if you have any problems and get those idiot security guards on film. I have had less than pleasurable experiences (take your best shot) with security at the UC but trust me... go to their superiors or get the police involved and it alllll changes. You even get free shit if you ***** enough.

Event security not protecting it's patrons should be grounds for immediate termination and possibly even a lawsuit. Not to the same extent but it's like a cop watching some helpless person get beat up and just smirk.

I wish those security guards a slow painful death.

Stu, the thought of doing anything other than getting out of there didn't even cross my mind at the time. Yeah, yeah, I was a sissy girl. I bet the guys will be smarter than me! I did send an email to the Wachovia Center offices and the Flyers, but not surprisingly, I haven't gotten a response. I don't really expect one.

Sorry for the late reply, but we also didn'thave the most pleseant experience. We took a chance and wore our jerseys around the city from about noon until we got back to our hotel after the game. Flyers fans were literally stopping their cars in the middle of traffic to yell at us as we walked past. My favorie part of the day was actually when a group of 5 or 6 kids that couldn't have been older than 12 years old followed us a block down the street to call us assholes and tell us how much the Hawks suck.

As for the game, we got shit everywhere inside and out of that building. CBS 2 had to bleep out some of our interview because some guy called my friend and I a name in the background while we were standingthere minding our own business. They all make it so personal there. I can only imagine how bad it would have been if the Hawks had won that night. After the game some guy followed us down the street until we could get a cab just yelling and screaming at us. Calling us tools and asking why we werent wearing Toews jerseys like everyone else. I don't know what it is about these people to give them such a good feeling when they treat people like shit.

Also, it was good to meet some of you down there by the glass, I'll be sure to come say hi sometime at the UC next year!!
