I am half tempted as Philly is only a little over 2 hours from here....although I can justify to myself going, can't justify to family and the military, as I know I would be in no condition to come back here Weds Night, and maybe not even Thursday morning.

Even the cheesesteak was nothing exceptional. Good yes, but go out of your way again for it,

no. It actually reminded me a slider with cheese on it.[/quote]

Go figure, eh? I'll stick with the Great Steak & Potato Co. in the mall.

I am 100% totally serious when I say I am concerned for you guys.

IF we were to wrap this up tomorrow the last place in the world I

would want to be is in or around the Wachovia Center. Iwould put money

on it that there would be a riot in Philly. We were already told stories of

windows being smashed in all up and down Broad Street.

Be safe friends.

I'm going! Just booked my ticket. NOt bad, $500 for non stop round trip and a room at the Loews Hotel on Market street. Now I just need a ticket to the game lol. Should know about that by the end of the day. Apparently we have a connection who is trying to get us tickets from the Flyers for face value, but if that doesn't happen we can still get $500 tickets upstairs or $1000 tickets downstairs we've been todl.

Anyone Else Going To Philly?

Hi,

First time poster but long time reader. I'm making the trip to Philly on Wednesday and was wondering if anyone knew of any good bars/restaurants before the game. I'm staying by the airport and not renting a car so I don't have one at my disposal. If any other Hawks fans are meeting up please let me know.

Thanks.

GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome aboard! You should post more often. Anyways I think we need an IHN prayer meeting for all of those going to Philly lol... going to be brutal if the Hawks clinch there.

There are a few going, and they have posted in the Lord Stanley, we desire your cup thread.

I was there Friday, and stayed by the airport as well. I rented a car, and suggest you do the same. The fans there were horrendous and vile, and may attack you physically. I am not kidding.

is there are reason that philly sports fans are notorious for being obnoxious and horrible to visiting fans? what is it, is it the water there or what? reading some comments from philly fans they say that their reputation is greatly exaggerated, but all these stories from visiting fans seem to confirm they are horrible buffoons.

so... we have 6 guys going. the more i hear, the more i think a nueteral sweater and hat might be the best bet. so sad, we can not wear our home reds there but being quiet and undercover may be best bet. i have been to philly lots of times... fliers game, eagles, and phillies games ... but as a nuetral fan (not playing bears, hawks, sox). fans were so so ... but this is a different ball game (literally).

one thing i know is at the complex the wings/pizza joint is not too close and the walk to and fro is not to be done(!). the train from downtown stopping at the complex in numbers is way to go. as far as places to go, i will do some recon and find a place downtown close to the train that goes out to the sports complex... perhaps a 5pm meet up of indianhead posters and then jump on the train?

My trip is set. My buddy screwed up and accidentally made the arrangements for next Wednesday instead of tomorrow. Thankfully, he calleD Expedia and they let him cancel everything and rebook. But, now instead of staying downtown we are stuck at the Econo Oldge oout by the airport :x

As for game tockets we really lucked out. My buddy atoned his airline fuckup because he is good friends with the guy who is in charge of escorting the Cup to the building. He got us tickets at face value from the Fylers organization. $375 and that includes free food and bar. I assume that means we are in some sort of suite??? If that's true we migth be safe from the fans.

I'm torn on the jersey issue. I bought my red #88 back in October and vowed to never wash it till they won the Cup this year. I've worn it to every game I've gone to and its slightly stained from never being washed. And now I have a chance to see the Hawks win the Cup and I'm supposed to leave the jersey at home??? That seems wrong and it also seems like really bad luck. But, on the other ahdn I've heard from many people that Flyers fans are goiong out of their way to target Hawks fans to try and get them kicked out of the arena. So I'm really torn on this. The gusy I'm going with don't want me to wear it.

Is there a place everyone is gonna meet up to celeberate if we win?

And wtf is up with this new board? Is anyone else having a hard time writing posts with everyting being on a delay? Its awful!
