Dirty girl? That must be why you texted me last night, Jako. ;-)

Yeah, a car's definitely easiest. For cheesesteaks, from the airport, get on 95 north, take the Broad Street exit and go north (towards center city), make a right at Frank Sinatra (Wharton St), and keep going until you see Pat's. Geno's is right there, too, if you insist. They're 24-hours of course, and definitely the breakfast of... I won't say it, just in case. If you even see this before you leave! haha

I will never be seen in Philly again for any sporting event.

What a classless bunch of goons. I have to say that our fans

could be a shining example of fandom compated to the shit I

experienced in Philly. I think they take pride in their thuggery.

The flight back was just as bad as the time watching the game.

But my time with Jako was glorious and stupendous.

Who knew that he was the master of articulation on the

other end of a camera? Not such a bad driver either!

Oh God, where to begin about yesterday? Seeing Jako and IHF and the underage boys was lovely, and they're awesome for putting up with my crazy ass. :) I don't think most of the people we ran into before the game were bad at all. They were all surprisingly nice, all things considered.

Then the game started. I thought I'd seen bad Philly fans, but... wow. The people around me were obnoxious. When I took my seat, the WOMAN next to me said "Effing great, I have to sit next to that thing" and encouraged her son (maybe 10 years old?) to crawl over her and wave his hands and scream in my face for probably 70% of the game. The adults weren't any better, use your imagination. But that crap I can deal with, most of the time. Also, everyone in the row in front of me was a leaner. Insult to injury! Rest assured, I was a good, little Hawks fan and didn't engage a single one of them. I like to pretend I'm a good team representative.

Then after the game, we had the back-breaking straw. Some d-bag and his buddy blocked my way on the concourse, the dude grabs onto the shoulder of my jersey and starts bellowing into my ear. Security was right there, 4 of them, and even when I asked for help, they just smirked and kept watching it happen. I'm not a small girl by any means, but two Jako-sized dudes? I'll admit, it's a little scary, especially when you're alone. And my ear still feels fuzzy. I know, I should've had at them. But as we all know, it's always the girl in the other team's jersey who gets arrested for "assaulting" the poor, innocent Flyers fan.

I'm just... so disgusted by last night. I'm downright embarrassed to own things with the Flyers logo on them. No desire to go to game 6, or any other game in that building. Here's hoping the Hawks make those idiots shut up and crawl back into the sewer.

I have half a mind to go down to the UC tomorrow and throw eggs at any Flyers fan I see.

EDIT: Actually, nah. I'll let the UC Flyers fans be, there is enough Hawks fans around to beat them to a pulp if they get rowdy. Now, anyone wanna pay for my airfaire to Philly for game 6? ;)

Sad, really sad.

Pretty comical reading the Woman that defends it as only a "handful of fans". Of the 5 people I've heard from that were at the game, say the same story. Except one. All sitting in the 200 level, which is like the 300 in the UC, in different locations. Must be more than just 5-6 people. There's a reason they have been labeled the worst fans in most sports.

Evan where were you sitting?

Gottabesharp, are you kidding me?

Gottabesharp, are you kidding me? Really? You were assaulted like that and they did nothing?

Let me preface it by saying I am not surprised and wish I were there with you when it happened. I was also warned that any involvement in our direction would result in being removed the facility whether at fault or not. This goes way beyond just the fans, it is the stadium, security that allow it and yet that means the ownership condones it. They relish this

disgusting behaviour and even take pride in it.

I have to admit hanging around outside at the block party, inside the bar and even walking around the inside with our great guide Danielle was for the most part pretty innocent. I think my perception changed when an 8 year old kid walked up to me and started yelling... "ASSHOLE! ASSHOLE! ASSHOLE!" while his father watched and laughed. Nice gene pool there. Turns out that anyone in any section wearing anything other then Flyers gear gets to hear everyone yell that when standing up or moving around. It got really nasty when we went up to the 200 level (as stated it is same as our 300 level). They threatened Jako and I immediately upon walking to our seats, in the bathroom, and I even had a guy come up to me and ask why Niemi like to do unnatural things to other men. When I walked away he came and slapped me on the shoulder got in my face and yelled it again. There is more that can be added but maybe Jako will share.

Being with Jako was a blast but this trip will never be repeated for any sporting event in Philly.

I was in 214, row 12, seat 8, pretty high up. I was even with the blue line that was close to Niemi 2x. My experience was different. I guess when the Flyers were down 2-0, the fans are more subdued. After they just tied the series 2-2 and full of alcohol, its pretty easy to be a tough guy at that point.

I obviously got a far different, and much more laid back response than what Dan described in his article. After reading that, I feel pretty fortunate actually.

Need I remind everyone of what I said after game three when people were actually saying nice things about their fans. There is a reason they are the only city in America to have a jail within one of their sports teams stadiums. I believe it's even complete with Judge.
