I think he’ll certainly improve…it’s just a matter of how much. I don’t think he’s goijg to have a magical leap in year 4, but sure, he should definitely be better. Right now he’s objectively average at best, if not slightly below average.

I'm not sure a 30-40 yards per game while running slightly less is a magical jump...

I think a slighlty better oline and another WR gets him there.

If first round picks matter so much why have the Rams been so good by trading away every first round pick since 2016?

Having all pros at key positions on defense and offense plus an elite coach have allowed them to remain competitive. Once there is a core of elite players, you don't need number one picks to replace them during their prime.

If he sticks with Fields, I’ll root like hell for him to prove me wrong and bring the Bears into contention.

If he moves on from Fields and drafts Williams, what will be your reaction? What will you think of Poles and his refusal to gain future first round picks?

I’m much more concerned with passer rating, decision making, sack%, and getting the ball out on time more than 30-40 extra YPG…I also don’t think he should be running less. That’s his biggest strength.

If he has targets open and predictive route running, he'd be running slightly less with more passing yards...

And based on the adjusted net yards per attempt he has improved the sack avoidance.

Again, a slightly better oline, a better receiver and a non-Getsy offense may help...

I think most people in favor of drafting Williams are pretty up-front that it’s not an automatic fix to the entire team, and that it’s not a guarantee that he’s going to be great.

But honestly, he doesn’t have to be great. Fields has set the bar pretty damn low.

If that were the case then why do the people in favor of drafting Caleb Williams is generally getting very hostile and start making personal attacks when someone points out the potential of the other side being correct?

He had nowhere to go but up with his sack% because it was an insane 15% last year lol…kudos to him to getting it down to 10% which is still way too high and 3% higher than the league average. He needs to get it down to 7% at minimum.

Tbh, I really don’t care what direction they go. I see the appeal with both sides. They just need to get the decision right. Whatever direction they choose, it has to be the home run decision. There’s risks with either choice, but we are talking about the most important position in all of sports so they can’t bobble it. They cannot miss/pass on Watson/Mahomes/Stroud again….so if they don’t take a QB, Fields better take a huge leap while the other QBs they pass on don’t amount to much.

The off the field flaws include not having the bearings to handle the pressure of dealing with the media after games. Having poor sportsmanship. Being surrounded by family and friends that threaten to hold out of return to school if he isn't placed in a favorable position...

Beyond those we have his personality and desire to go against the grain in order to make personal statements outside of football. Wearing skirts in photo shoots and painting the suicide hotline number on your nails is more than being overly flamboyant. It shows that he may have other personal struggles that can become overwhelming under the bright lights and expectations of being the Bears 1st "franchise QB" since Luckman

I honestly don't know what the Bears will do. I think there are legit arguments both ways...

-Fields is worse than Shane Matthews, Craig Krenzel, etc.

-Williams is a guaranteed superstar

-Tyson Bagent is a starting NFL quarterback

-The Bears have to stop trying to get better after drafting a quarterback.

-A great quarterback is the only reason good teams are good.
