Crawdaddy was the only reason that game was close. Let in a turd in the opening minute and just never looked settled at all.

Great job by Emery earning the win.

Not much from Sharp tonight. He really needs more than Kruger and Stalberg.

Sure would be nice for Emery to take full charge here.

He's earned it every bit as much as Crawdaddy has lost it. The western race is way too tight to keep hoping #50 will quit letting in softies. Cut bait and ride Razor.

Toronto has given up two goals in the first five minutes in their last 2 games. The Leafs are shaken right now. I'm surprised Vegas only has Chicago as a -170 favorite.

Well considering that Chicago was (if I read the box correctly) 0 for 2 on the PP - then, I stand by my statement that Toronto should have put the Hawks on the PP as often as possible after getting the lead.

We'll see how this plays out as now I got the Hawks on a 1 for 41 PP streak which is now below a 2.5% success rate.

Keep in mind that under 20% is considered pretty sad.

Kane breaks out vs a sieve in Gustavsson. Yeah real impressive.

Agreed. It wasn't pretty game by any means - but when it was "Helter Skelter" in the second, Emery didn't shit the bed.

Yes.

I get the idea of trying out a new toy, but Q probably ought to have a better idea of what his toys are capable of doing. For example, Oduya on the pp? That's not what he's here to "fix."

I kept flipping to the Stars/Penguins game and that matchup made the Hawks/Leafs look like a high school exhibition game.

The Stars are not a joke (and they actually had a crowd tonight!)

Heard more than one analyst say the Hawks brought in Oduya to be a very poor mans Brian Campbell so I guess that's where Q was coming from.

Either that or "hey, the rest of the guys can't get it done... throw the new blood out there"

Kane is a cocky little dude for somebody who has 5 goals in the last 2 months.

Yeah great game vs a team that can't play defense.

And to go along with #2, a bit of a FU to Stan.

Has Oduya ever functioned in that role anywhere? Well anywhere since leaving New Jersey and prior to 2009-10?

Not that I've seen. But, similar here, Thrash/Winnipeg does have a few D who would have priority in that role before him.

From what I've seen out of him in Winnipeg this year, he's more adept at moving the puck than stopping it, but he's not a great offensive force or threat with it.

Well, a turnover threat, but you know what I mean.

just saying a guy who isn't even in the top 20 in the NHL in points, shouldn't be acting like a cocky asshole.
