What the hell does contract value have to do with the offenses they run? How is this a "horrible" poll just because the Bears don't have Mike Vick? If Chipper Kelly can run his offense with Nick Foles Im sure he can with Jay Cutler. DeSean Jackson is faster but he is not a better WR than B. Marshall. Are you telling me that Matt Forte is unable to play in that scheme, please tell me how you come to that conclusion.

I don't know what Eagles fans you were talking too, but we won 4 games last year and our defence was horrible. We completely changed schemes on both sides of the ball and currently only have some of the players to run a 3-4, so it's a work in progress.
For me if we win 5 games that progress. Anything greater than that is gravy. I'd add the team is very fun to watch. Their D goes form horrible to good and their offense is always high powered. It's either high powered run, high powered pass or high powered turnover...
Anyway, 3 games into a complete rebuild and I'm happy with what I'm seeing.

It should be exciting to be an Eagles fan. They can make some down right explosive plays. Just need to limit mistakes and get the defense settled in.
Any word on how long Shady will be out?

Pegger I doubt anyone was taking a shot at you in particular, just the booing fans they see on tv or the ones they personally know. Same thing with my OP, I made it before the game to discuss the buzz about your team's offense vs what we are building. I hope you don't take any of it personally (internet personally) or whatever.

But Pegger, strictly from a philosophical standpoint, do you think this system will work in the NFL?
Week 1 they looked unstoppable. Week 2, still put up the yardage but not the same points, Week 3, still put up the yardage but nowhere near the points, McCoy had an injury scare, and Vick was walking around gingerly. And it's only week 3.
I just don't see how this type of system will hold up in the NFL for 16 weeks. As stated earlier, depth is going to be an issue and if Vick or McCoy gets hurt, that offense doesn't work at all, because they are the ones that set everything else up.
Just wondering if you think it will work long term...

I still think it's a good system. Here's my thoughts on the 3 weeks:
Week 1 - Redskins - 33-27 win, 443 yards, 2 turovers - Caught what is a bad defense off guard. They took the foot off the pedal real eary.
Week 2 - Chargers - 30-33 loss, 511 yards, 0 turnovers - the defense lost this game. Chargers converted 10-15 3rd down. A good chunk of those were on 3rd and long. Can't fault the offense when putting up 500+ yards and 30 points.
Week 3 - Chiefs - 16-26 loss, 431 yards, 6 turnovers - By far the best defense they played, but you just can't win with 6 turnovers and Vick had a bad game. Defense was up and down and just couldn't come up with a stop late.
People don't think it could last, but the only player they are missing is Jeremy Maclin and he got hurt in July. You mention McCoy and Vick getting hurt and depth being an issue but at the end of the day it's still football and people will get hurt. I think Foles and Brown will be ready to play if called upon (like they would under any system). I think there's a big fraction of people sitting back waiting for this injury to happen so they can blame the scheme, but it's really no different.
You can argue that things will wear on towards the end of the year, but to date there's nothing that suggests that a faster pace of play leads to more injures.

More plays per game entirely equals more opportunities for injury for the players on the field.
Doesn't mean it will always happen but logic is what suggests it.

Dog killer always goes on IR (only played 16 games once in his career) and McCoy has also spent time on IR.
IMO if they go on IR it will have nothing to do with the scheme. There's already a long list of players that are lost for the year and non can be linked to Chip Kelly's scheme.

Currently the Eagles offense through 3 games runs an average of 66 plays per game. To put that in context the Bears on average (2 games) run 63.5 plays per game and the Patriots on average have run 76.5 per game.
So saying it's more plays is just wrong.

That's a bit of an overreaction. They had a 6 turnover game. Weather it was Reid coming back or them playing 3 game in 11 days or them just not being ready, emotionally they weren't into it and had a bad game and one that should be considered the low point, not the norm.
