I disagree, and so will several other Gm's. Positional value has to be considered when making statements of this nature. Kicking the can down the road does nothing for building a winning team. Your going to reach a point where the other Non QB talent you have been assembling through the draft are at the end of their rookie contracts before you even begin to address the QB position, and that makes no sense at all.
Taking one at 3 doesn't magically make him have talent. If Pace feels that there is a franchise type qb at 3 then by all means i hope he takes him.
I just don't think any of these qb's will be franchise guys, therefore, i would hate to see the number 3 pick wasted.
You identify the one or two that you wish to target and draft accordingly. If that means over drafting, then so be it. You don't pass on your guy because you think he is closer to a mid/late first round pick as opposed to a top 5 pick. If you want to get cute, I suppose you could trade down, but then you run the risk at both losing your guy and failing to grab a top 5 talent.
What if Pace doesn't like any of them? Like a lot of other people. Should he just take the one he hates least?
If the Glennon rumors are true and Pace is seriously looking at him then it should really tell us all we really need to know about this QB class. If he feels that a qb he likes will be in the draft then why not just keep Hoyer?
You might get away with that logic for one NFL draft, but when you start to string three together, a pattern is forming. Granted, it's speculation at this point, but if they sign Glennon at 14-15 mil, I doubt they are taking a QB in the first two rounds. That brings us back to the dumpster diving for a QB scenario. I find it hard to believe that Pace and Co, out of this years QB class, don't think any of them are better options then Mike fucking Glennon, a third round pick 4 years ago, that has thrown a sum total of 11 pass's in the last two years.
Im not excited about the thought of Glennon at all. I also haven't watched him play. He played as a rookie and maybe a couple games after that. The only people that really know anything about him are NFL people. None of us jackasses know anything about him. We just see the bad and refuse to wait and see.
As for passing on qb in the past. For one it's in the past. Im over it. For two, we had Cutler locked in till this year because of Emery and we had to many needs to take one of the top qb's. We could have taken some of the scrubs that everyone bitches about taking i suppose.
This only makes sense then if the Bears end up signing him for $9-11 million."According to John Mullin of CSN Chicago, the list of teams pursuing Glennon is quickly whittling down, perhaps leaving the Chicago Bears as his primary suitor."
Lol when teams found out how much Glennon would command they scattered off leaving only Pace & Fox willing to pony up. Smh

Gus has always been the #1 poster on this board
Keep up the great work Gus
There are plenty of "NFL people" scratching their heads over this deal (if true), it's not just us "know nothing" fans.
Who are these NFL people? Not that i doubt it but who are they?
From what I've read, the Jets have been interested with Glennon but don't have that much cap room. I'm sure other teams like the Bills or 49ers may have had some interest as well. What 'interest'?
For starters, everyone that was interested in Glennon and bowed out due the contract demands, but before I go any further, maybe I should ask your definition of "nfl people". Would this include people in the Media that report on the nfl?
We got Puppy Monkey Ginger mother *******!!! suck our dick.
