The real problem is that they even HAVE a supplemental discipline office. Write a sound rule book that the BoGs and NHLPA agrees upon, and use it CONSISTENTLY. Then, don't change it every fucking time a butterfly queefs and WALA - you have a clean league without jacktard rogue players and controversy over officiating.
That's the thing, you shouldn't have players after every incident completely holding their breath to see what the punishment is. Their shouldn't be speculation or distraction. It shouldn't take 2 fucking days to decide. It should be looked up in the rule book and ruled upon.

The outrage by some over a goalie getting hit is pretty fucking comical. Right now, a skater can do whatever they want to a goalie in the crease short of grabbing his stick and throwing it over the glass or sitting on his fucking chest.

Whatever happened to "Interfering with the goalie"? Since when did the NHL rule that it is OKAY for a skater to be in the crease AND making contact of ANY kind with the goalie? That is all I have seen this year, every fucking game.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers

Well, if there is even a slight modicum of "pack mentality", this will be a statement game for our boys. I expect some guys fired up.

Oh, and RK? Do your worst

I agree, why do they even bother with these face to face interviews? What is the point exactly? Put fear in their hearts as they wait to see the principal?

What are you talking about?

How many times have you seen an offensive skater touching, skating into, or putting his stick on goalie and not getting called for it? I see it every single NHL game.

Anyone remember not that long ago when Brett Hull didn't but did score the Cup winning goal by illegally, but legally being in the crease? Remember why they put that rule in place? Why did they get rid of it?

I am apoplectic.

And relieved that I spelled it correctly.

Doan trying to talk tough about this now.

"(Shaw) knows and everybody knows that you run the goalie and take a five-miniute major on a goalie, obviously it's noticed by the other team," Coyotes captain Shane Doan said. "If I was to do it to (Corey) Crawford, I'm sure it would be the exact same feelings toward me. There's no doubt it's not something that we appreciated and were too happy about."

Assclown, were these feelings before or after you cross checked Toews in the back of the head in game #1? Or punched him in the side of the head in game #1?

How happy are you to have never had your name on the Cup Captain Classless?

**** off.

That just reminds me that the NHL from officiating to league management to the players association is nothing but inconsistantly inconsistant.

Aren't the back of the nets a "hight-traffic area" where even hits to the head don't get any suspensions? At least it was last year when Torres hit Seabrook.

What a fucking joke Shannahan is, how does that hit warrant a 3 game ban. Him with is his stupid and inconsistent rulings along with Smiths over acting are both a disgrace and embarrassment to the game of hockey. Hope the guys give him hell tonight if his sore vagina heels in time. Second that playing Holy Diver would be classic. Think Bollig is going to be a busy boy tonight.

Clearly Shaw is being used as a scapegoat to help Shanahan and Co. recover from letting this year get out of control.

But what we are talking about around here at work is this:

When is diving going to be a suspendable offense? With guys faking injuries and embellishing wherever they can, true injuries cannot be identified and thus impacting the safety of all players.

The got rid of it because it was a bullshit rule. If the guy had his skate barely touching the blue paint even on the opposite side of the goalie, they would waive off the goal. Not even near the play.
