Yeah, just read that. He'll be "day to day" until the decision comes down on Shaw then BINGO! I'm back to 100% (like he said in the post-game presser)

Yeah, the organization told him to skip a practice cause it was sooo obvious what he did just to make it seem like it really hurt. What A PUSSY. now I really want someone to knock his block off! God why are sooo many teams turning into acting pussies, why can't they just play the F'n game. the NHL should have an acting penality or eject the player for doing it.
And what the **** is up with Shaw....no word yet, I wonder if he has been on hold since 1pm since shannys phone is off the hook with calls.

Through conversations we had with several team executives and coaches around the league Sunday, we came up with a list of possible factors:[/font][font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
• The league's decision not to suspend Shea Weber for his transgressions on Henrik Zetterberg on the first night of the playoffs "allowed it to be open season" as one team executive said. "It started there."[/font][font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
• One by one, veteran NHL refs have retired from the league over the past few years, leaving many inexperienced on-ice officials in charge of playoff games, depending on the night. "Some of them don't know how to control a game," said one Eastern Conference coach.[/font][font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
• The players more than ever have very little respect for each other.[/font][font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
• One veteran player told ESPN.com on Sunday that he believes the weeding out of traditional tough guys has also open the door for "rats" to roam free on the ice and wreak havoc without any fear. He pointed, as an example, at Blues winger Vladimir Sobotka's punch that broke Dominic Moore's nose Saturday night. He said Sobotka would never have had the guts to do that "10 years ago," when NHL rinks were better patrolled.[/font][font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
• The incredible parity in the league has created a frenetic atmosphere in which teams are trying for any possible edge they can find in such closely contested series, and that includes trying to intimidate the other team.[/font][font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

Really Shannahan royally screwed the pooch on trying to control the league. The Weber face slam was malicious, clearly had intent, the horn was sounding and there was nothing done. Weber is hands down the most important skater the Preds have. Now Carkner, Hagelin and Asham all do the same things, yet they are suspended. If Shaw gets suspended it'll only sum up how pathetic of a job Shannahan has done this year.
.....And yes I'm still salty about Keith getting 5 games for what was a retaliatory hit.

I actually played hockey without shoulder pads. Hated how they felt. Ran around with a roller hockey padded shirt for a bit but the puck always found a place with no pad so I just went sans chest/shoulder protection

Will there be more games/series as extreme as Phil vs Pitt ? Time will tell, I thought Pitt was the better team. Its doubtful the league and the refs have a clue as to how to calm things down. They hav'nt shown a lick of common sense yet why start now?
