Dare I add this is why I wanted Lovie gone?. No decent OC in his right mind wants to work for him. It's a good thing Cutler knows how to develop himself b/c he's had zero coaching help. Tice was already working with the running game, and he's a good positional coach. The "promotion" is more of a title change. I just hope he isn't calling plays.

If it ends in disaster, then it will leave no doubt the Bears need to change HC's. Is it in Lovie's contract that he has exclusive rights to name every assistant?...sure looks that way. Now DeCosta is off the GM list...great.

Whoa, that was quite an "exhaustive" search done by the Bears organization. At least when they hired Martz, they did it as a last-ditch effort because everyone else turned them down.

Tice's tenure at Minnesota was marked by turning the Vikings' once powerful offense into a dull, conservative offense. Perhaps thats what Chicago needs at this point...I don't know. I think the whole "play-calling" aspect of the thing is overrated. That said, Tice's play-calling (when he took it over) in Minnesota was atrocious. The Randy Ratio drove Moss out of Minnesota. Instead of throwing 1 deep pass for 50 yards and a TD, lets throw 50 1-yard passes to Moss!

Linehan wasn't calling the plays?

How long before Bears fans shout "bring in Moss as a WR?"

I have a bad feeling with this move that the Bears planned all along to make Tim Ruskell the new GM

Why don't you have the time? Just curious.

he's busy finding out where people live so he can fight them over what they said on the internet.

So my curiosity has gotten the best of me...yet don't have the time to dig it up. Was Tice calling the plays in his time as HC or was it Linehan? Cause they were a top 10 offense every year sans 2005. Including the year where Moss was injured for most of the season.

I guess at this point I'm trying to look for optimism...anywhere....
