So my curiosity has gotten the best of me...yet don't have the time to dig it up. Was Tice calling the plays in his time as HC or was it Linehan? Cause they were a top 10 offense every year sans 2005. Including the year where Moss was injured for most of the season.

I guess at this point I'm trying to look for optimism...anywhere....

not sure if Linehan was the primary play caller or not in Minny... but he's the OC in DET right now and the things they do in DET looks a lot like some of the things MIN did when he was there.

I would just hope for best case scenario we get Vincent Jackson, and hope run game is top notch with play action our bread-n-butter. I would wait to see who we get as GM before we truly evaluate this. Lots of moves to be made.

I have a bad feeling with this move that the Bears planned all along to make Tim Ruskell the new GM

With his track record in Seattle?. I don't have the stat here, but I think only 1 player he drafted remains on the roster.

well after reading a bit on Tice and his "Randy Ratio" (i'll try to dig up a link on what he said) I would not be surprised to see them make a strong strong play for either V-Jax or Dwayne Bowe. So I'm still pretty optimistic.

As 2 NFL QB's broke yardage records this season, the Bears decide to promote an OL coach as offensive coordinator, and then hire a passing game coordinator. :obama:

Now that the Cubs have a good FO, some organization has to take over as the worst in Chicago. Might as well be the Bears.

Why didnt we wait for the new GM to make these decisions. If I am a GM I want to bring my own guy in but thats just me.

Because Phillips said it was Lovie's decision on who to have on his staff.

I like the move.

1. He knows the personnel and has a grasp of what they can and cannot do, something Martz never thought of.

2. He called plays in Minnesota and was involved in the process in Jacksonville.

3. Our offense got better when he stepped in and started having more input on game plans.

This is not like hiring Bill Walsh, but I am fie with the move.

It's not sexy but this is precisely the reason why this might not be a bad move. Given the state of flux the team is in right now, this might be the best option.
