You think Lafleur was a bad OC because he “didn’t elevate “ poor offensive players in one season?
I think LaFleur was a bad OC for the Titans because he was. Those are facts. I’m not saying he is a bad coach or play caller now. Only that he as a bad OC in TEN.

Would you say Doug Peterson is a good OC for the Jaguars?

Dumbest most undisciplined team in NFL history.

Bring Vrabel to Chicago.

END THE FUCKERY, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

Except this has nothing to do with the Packers. This is who Vrabel hired as OC for the TITANS. and for the TITANS, LaFleur was pretty damn bad. No one knew LaFleur was going to have success.

No shit they have more info. That’s why I said the Packers were eyeing LaFleur prior to him joining the Titans. They saw a young and upcoming guy from the McVay tree. That doesn’t change the fact that he was a poor OC for the Titans and at the time a bad hire by Vrabel. The Packers took a chance on him and it worked out.

I could say the same thing right at you Mr “know it all” LMFAO.
You really think that a coach can make shit players into great offense? Do fans really believe that coaches have a magic wand? LaFleur took over a Tennessee team with a running back and nothing more. When you have a bad quarterback and nothing at wide receiver what do fans expect a coach to do?

No he wasnt a poor OC as if anyone actually thought that he would have been hired right after his one year the Titans. The Packers hired to be HC and call plays because they believed he was a good playcaller among other things.

Last year everybody thought Bobby Slowik was some kinda QB whisperer but now he's not even mentioned one year later.

Stop trying to find the flavor of the week offense and hire a real fucking coach ffs

Albert Breer on ESPN 1000 speculated, clarifying that this is just his opinion and not due to insider information, but he thinks the Bears will hire Vrabel, and either Josh McDaniels or Tommy Reed who is currently the passing game coordinator for the browns.

Shit like this is why you don't want Vrabel folks.

Hi, it’s Midway Caleb.

I believe Mike Vrabel and Ben Johnson are the clear cut two best head coach candidates. By far.

But, I can’t decide who would be the better fit for the beloved.

If you feel strongly one way or the other, convince me why the Bears should hire your guy. Who would be your hand picked offensive coordinator for Vrabel and your defensive coordinator for Ben Johnson.

Thanks.
It was always Ben. Love it.

Skimming through this thread, nobody has asked the most important question. Can our GM find exceptional talent in the draft and free agency?

It is doubtful based on Poles' record. You do need good players after all.

And now he is your hero.
GTFO

I obviously didn’t know much about him when I said this. I’m gonna say 3 words you’re incapable of stating.

I was wrong.

Ben Johnson called 34 passing plays against one of the worst run defenses in the NFL he was absolutely gashing in the run game. Let the bears back in it by only calling 11 runs in the second half.

His hero's are also john scoop and adam gase.
yet you're pounding your chest over his hire now

No i still have the same concerns

We have no clue how much of ben johnson is the lions fantastic talent and how much of it is him being a genius. We will find that out this year

If you actually read the thread I mention multiples times " I am not saying he cant be good" but a lot of his success is linked to top tier talent at multiple spots on the roster.

The main issue was also linked to the front office, as you could have put ben johnson with the 2024 bears OL and that offense would still struggle. They made drastic changes on the OL this year, so hopefully it pays off.

He could completely bust in chicago, guy has yet to have on training camp practice.

The thread was about ben johnson vs. vrabel, while I think vrabel is overrated he has a proven track record and has gotten the best out of a team with a poor QB. Ben Johnson has never been a head coach and could become completely overwhelmed when shit hits the fan. He could also be the next KOC/McVay

I would have been fine with Vrabel if he had come with Josh McDaniels as his long term OC. The last time the Patriots made the postseason it was with McDaniels as their OC and did so with a young QB. Once McDaniels left for the Raiders the Patriots QB and offense as a whole went off a cliff.

Ben Johnson with Dennis Allen every bit as good, IMO.

I liked both options and still think both are in promising situations.
