Cubs lineup: DeJesus RF, Valbuena 3B, Rizzo 1B, Soriano LF, Castro SS, Castillo C, Jackson CF, Barney 2B, Wood P

Nice. I was hoping for this last night. Vitters is just not getting anything to go his way yet. At least Jackson is starting to find a groove.

Vitters is probably going to play in September anyway since the minor league season is almost over. He's also younger than Valbuena so there's room to improve. Of course, at this point Valbuena is the better defender and has a bat that's marginally better so it'd be hard to sit Valbuena while Vitters continues to struggle.

Hahaha not "I gave up back to back to back home runs" Hinshaw. That was short lived. But if you suck you suck. We suck enough to not need his suck too.

An out to start the game is always good.

Now Aramis' first AB will have bases empty. That's good.

I like that Travis Wood is good at fielding. Unlike some other Cub pitchers.

He never actually played for a Cubs affiliate but maybe it was one of those random Rule 5 things.

All things considered, not a bad game by Travis Wood. Bet he wants that 3-0 pitch back though :shifty:

At least Darwin Barney gave Cubs fans something to cheer about, although it technically didn’t come until the last out was made. Barney completed his 113th consecutive game without an error to tie the longest single-season streak by a second baseman in National League history. David Eckstein also went 113 games for the Padres in 2010. The longest streak by a second baseman in the American League is 141 by Placido Polanco for the Tigers in 2007.
