Seriously, how long does it take to rest off some abrasions and a lump or two? Ice packs.

dude you were calling me dumb in another thread or maybe this one but your post takes the cake at dumb. Ever heard of tylenol 3??? da fuq is with this pussy shit.

Plus these guys have top of the line pads anyways.

da fuq?

I don't know, ever been hit in the leg with a 95 mph slap shot? Ever taken a crosscheck in the back, the neck, the ribs, the kidneys? Ever taken a slash in the back of the leg or been hit with a puck there? Ever been hit in the inside of the foot with a puck? Ever tweaked a groin, knee, shoulder, or elbow playing hockey? A week helps, but some of the minor injuries that pile up during the regular season take SEVERAL weeks to fully heal.

I'm not sure what injury heals in 3 days, unless you're The Wolverine?

Tylenol 3......

Sure, man, just wipe it off. Hockey players more than any sport play through more serious injuries, especially in the cup runs.

You get plenty of lists like this post Stanley cup runs by teams:

http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/2013/6/27/4471076/Blackhawks-injury-update-bolland-bickell-hossa-shaw

Also not mentioned was Handzus after that needing a wrist and MCL surgery from what he played through. Other guys started feeling hurt but got better when they had rest post series, like Sharp, who wasn't healthy nor rested to start last years post-season.

Hossa missed a finals game from his back injury, which allowed Ben Smith to get on the cup, but it wasn't like his injury wasn't effecting him. Hossa also well noted still was bothered by his shoulder injury during the 2010 cup run which along with a back issues he had in the Detroit Stanley Cup Final Loss the year prior.

There is not so much momentum loss but often game speed and mindset loss when having a long series break. You sometimes get a period of sloppy passing if a team was off a long time.

Lol, why are you listing hockey related issues when you KNOW i've never played hockey before? LOL.

I doubt you've had all of those injuries at the same time, but if you have, you need to be more careful.

Also, you need to take like 2 to 3 times the amount of tylenol it says on the package and then you are good to go. Jeesh, some people are so dramatic....

Sorry, just in my experience it only takes a couple days to work thru that sort of pain.

This is our year, as there is no other team remaining capable of pushing a game 7 let alone win a series.

Momentum is good, but this team is scary great.

Start planning the parade.

No, i get where hes coming from. He thinks hockey injuries are worse than injuries in other sports. Idk, i got pretty bad injuries in tennis, golf, judo, kickboxing, was thrown from a horse once, and even had a bad wingsuit landing a couple of weeks ago. Most were manageable to my three day rule. Jump in a trash bin filled with ice and pop some painkillers is all...

Except my meniscus, that was like 4 months (no surgery)

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Obviously there was a leak in the Wild's momentum barrels this past series. I hope someone is checking the seals on our barrels.

Dont get me started on the Foosball "incident" I had in '99... Honestly, I've never truly recovered..

Does it involve a "friend" smashing his palm on the end of one of the rods which sent the handle smacking right into your sack?

If so, I feel your pain. Used to have a Foosball table back in the day.....

Had one of those. Tylenol 3s cleared it right up. Btw, did i tell u guys about the meniscus tear? Fucking marching band injury. We were doing an intense moving formation where the baritone players flipped our horns up in the air and caught eachothers. Well, i was first chair (im a boss like that-all state) and dipshit second chair was joking around and tried a handoff instead of flipping his, i ended up saving both instruments but wrecked my knee. Never did mma again. :(

It's hockey insight, not beer league insight. Those injuries don't heal in a couple days. They feel better, but they certainly aren't healed. Without resting them straight through for a week or two, they linger and bug you. Lots of similar injuries in other sports that are exactly the same way. Basketball, football, etc.

The point is really simple. The more rest, the better those things feel. It doesn't take long for professional athletes to get back up to speed after a week off.
