I went to go see the taking of Pelam 1 2 3 yesterday night and I really enjoyed it. Travoltas character was an insane genious and John portrayed it well. Denzel was solid as always. I wish there was more action like shooting wise but it will was amazing. It was amazing because I live in NY and cant believe that they made this movie here. Its always so chaotic so they did a great job. Two of the actors from Anger Management were in the movie, the italian guy with the anger and something Guzman I think.

Watched the original again on Encore last night. No real desire to see the newer, bastardizes version. Travolta is just horrible as a bad guy, in fact I don't think he's that good an actor anyway. And it's directed by Tony Scott, so you can expect a seizure-inducing editing style. I don't understand why excellent thrillers from the 60's & 70's have to all be remade with just tons of explosions & over-the-top characters. But then again it must be the dumbing down of society as a whole. I'm betting the average kid's attention span nowadays is 100x's less than when I was a kid.

Just saw 'District 9'. All I have to say is "Wow". This is what a sci-fi movie should be. Compelling original story, great acting, excellent cinematography, & the SFX are amazing. And it only cost $30million to make. Peter Jackson's team has done it again, bringing emotion to CGI characters the same way they did in LOTR & King Kong.

Since the end of Battlestar Galatica, I've been waiting for a sci-fi film that is uncompromising in it's depiction of raw human emotion. District 9 has done that. If you are a sci-fi, you must see this movie. And even if you're not, it's still a brilliant piece of cinema I highly recommend.

Ok, so I know Diddy is gonna get pissy by this post and that he will take a bunch of cuts at me (like "Mark likes this crappy movie and that crappy movie, don't listen to him"). I saw District 9 Friday night. This movie sucked. It seriously was about as entertaining as watching my balls bounce for 2 hrs. I felt like the plot was ridiculous, worst of all the interaction between the humans and aliens felt so overdone and fake. You never for one second actually bought how the humans and aliens were interacting. If that felt "real" then I may of bought the crappy plot of the movie, but it didnt, so the movie just felt like fake Hollywood BS to me. Don't see this movie, you may shoot yourself out of boredom. Keep in mind Diddy is a film student and film students have to pretend to like shitty movies, as long as they are artsey, so they can seem smarter then everyone else and like they have some "understanding" for the arts. The only thing that I understand about this peice of art (District 9), is that I want to drop a deuce on it.

As the boys from "Men on Film" would say....HATED IT!

Mark I could take shots at your ridiculously horrible taste in movies but you kinda already made yourself look like an idiot with your stereotypical generalization of all film students, current & former. There are plenty of crappy "art" films out there that I absolutely dispise.(pretty much anything thing by Gus Van Sant, he is horrible) And I already told you yesterday that I'm not going to say you're wrong for your opinion because it's just that, your opinion. I liked the film. I will agree that some of the acting was hammed up a bit, but keep in mind none of these people were traditional trained actors & none of them were big name stars. And if you had actually read up about the film beforehand, I know for a fact you would not have seen it, so it's your own fault there.

And let's be clear here, I don't consider District 9 an art film. It has artsey qualities but is not by any means an "art" film, believe me. It was an inventive new take on the sci-fi genre that didn't use the typical Hollywood phoney science to explain everything to the audience. Much of it was left open for the viewers interpretation & like the main character in the film, you were finding out more & more about what was really going on as the film progressed. I loved that. Also, the whole time I was watching it I felt that if this situation ever occured in real life, much of what is done by humans to the aliens would play out the same way. This made it highly believable in my eyes. Overall, this movie was more fulfilling for me than the new Star Trek, which I throughly enjoyed. I give it 2 snaps & a twist.

Mark, you may want to rent "Twilight". You might enjoy that more.

I don't hate the world, skool. Though considering how crappy things are today, could you blame me if I did? Anyway, I hate pretty much all Hollywood remakes, especially of good films that were in no need of a remake. Plus I hate John Travolta.

If fans stoped going to these remakes maybe they would stop making them. I refused to go see the Halloween remake and hoped they wouldnt make halloween two but i saw a preview for it.

Horror movie remakes are a different story because almost all of them are incredibly god awful & basically piss all over the originals. Halloween is a great example. It's a film that did not need to be remade, EVER. But somehow Rob Zombie, after the success of his Special person, blatant rip-offs of Texas Chainsaw Massacre aka House of 1,000 Corpses & Devil's Rejects, talked Dimension Films into letting him turn Halloween into a masterful combination of diarrhea & vomit.

Btw, Mark loved the new Halloween. Hehe.

Saw District 9 over the weekend. Best movie of the summer...I've been itching for a good sci-fi flick and this was the one that did it for me. Liked Star Trek, Transformers 2 was alright..(way too much humping of dogs and bots. Ebonic-bots were the Jar Jar Binks of the movie) I Loved District 9....I am a fan. (Yes, I facebooked it.) I really recommend this movie. Check it...

I remember you told me to see it because you said it was good. You said it was better than the original. And boobies, you can see them anywhere, just go on Redtube. You don't need to waste time on an utter piece of rabbit turd like the new Halloween.

Omg newskool, are you serious? It's only the greatest thing to happen to internet porn ever. Thousands of free clips & scenes, categorized & updated daily. Hell they even have them in HD, but you have to be a premium member for that. But if you've never checked it out, do so. It beats watching scrambled cinemax on your TV.
