I worry about today's generation... they seem to have no concept/appreciation of Monty Python. Maybe that's my generation's fault for not doing a better job passing it down, I don't know. It's disheartening to make a fairly known MP joke (I fart in your general direction!) and have blank eyes stare back at you... of course, maybe that's just me.

And I just recently got into Dr. Who (the Docktaah!) but only the newer re-booted series. I have 9 more Doctors to get caught up on.
Luckily you only need to spend about 2 hours catching up on one of those Doctors with the crappy Fox movie in the late 90's.

I like the rebooted series, but not overly keen on the original so much so that I was invited to be part of a live act that Mistied some of the really bad episodes (http://www.shillpages.com/mt337/index2.php?pz=mtepg). I don't do the live show anymore due to other commitments, but it is pretty fun to still do the writing sessions.

And I agree with TCD, that one really has to have a good basic grasp on history, politics, and philosophy to get much of Monty Python's humor...sometimes to get the really good part of the jokes beyond the observation humor as well.

I actually tried to watch an Tom Baker ep/movie yesterday (The Pyramids of Mars) and fell asleep. Don't know if I can blame it on the the ep just yet... I was awfully tired when I turned it on.

The re-booted episodes are awesome... while I like Matt Smith, I still like Tennant better and I really like that Stephen Moffat has the reins of the show now. The first part of the series finale for the latest season is fanfuckingtastic.

Did you know they actually have a Dr. Who Convention in Lombard in November?

Watched Green Zone:

The movie was basically supposed to be just like a Jason Bourne movie with Matt Damon, but it didn't have the same feel. There was a decent amount of action, but it was more suspense type action and not as much hand to hand combat that the Bourne series was about.

In all fairness he was playing chief warrant officer in the movie, I didnt know any warrant officers that were hardcore kung fu mother ******* when I was in the army, in fact I didnt know anybody like that, with the exception of a couple of my drill instructors in basic who were hardcore into mixed martial arts.
Inception: 9.1/10
I concur that it is at least 9/10 as long as one is able to keep up with the story (which is easy if you stay off your gosh darned phone and not sexting or playing games you young fucks). And yes, I can see this as easy to get lost if you lose attention, but stick with the story and it is pretty freaking good. There is also a pretty good secret to keeping track of which dream is which. Just need to pay attention.

The secret is to pay attention... check.

Actually, I'm going to see it this week, I'll let you know if I figure it out.

Watched Sunshine Cleaners last night on Netflix

Sisters start a cleaning buisness specializing in crime scene/bio-hazard clean-up and come to grips with the suicide death of their mother while dealing with their personal problems and father.

Not a bad film. Worth watching. I think it would've been better if it was more dark comedy than social drama.

Thats impossible. When I went to the movies last, the entire row ahead of me was probably 15-18 year olds all with their cell phones out the entire time, texting or dicking around on the internet. The should be a no cell phones out rule period in theatres. Its annoying have the glow of 14 phones in my eyes ahead of me.

Why the hell pay money for tickets if they are just going to dick around with their phones, WTF. They can do that shit for free when their loafing around in the mall or whatever kids do nowadays. Are they that addicted to their interwebs and phones that they can't ignore them for 2 hours? I swear every generation seems to get more ignorant than the last.

GET OFF MY LAWN, YOU DAMN KIDS!

Great for subway cars too... the interwebs has them, I believe I saw some for under 100, but who knows how effective they really are, and how long they will last considering they usually run on AAs. but you don't need to keep it on, just blast it out every now and then to make it too annoying to use a cell phone.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Any thoughts? I believe it's based off a cult classic video game is it not? Michael Cera is either the best casting job either, or the worst, it could go either way till I see the movie, but from the previews he looks the part.

If you see any movie this summer, make it Inception.

***** stars all the way.

Christoper Nolan is a genius and DiCaprio does a great job acting. As all others have said pay attention to detail and I think really the very beginning is the hardest to follow.

No kidding. Hell, one of the last times the wife and I hit the theaters on a Saturday night the amount of cell phones no caused enough ambient light that I could see the details of the people 5-6 rows ahead of me.

...it was also this last time that there was a couple around our age that was sitting near us to kindly asked one of the kiddies to turn down the volume on their phone while they were playing their game. Kid's response was "shut up ***** and watch the movie". Needless to say we got the kid and his group removed, but shit, at that kid's age if that was my response I would still have welts today. And the main reason the wife and I hit the Sunday matinee's now.
