before you say too much take a minute to educate yourselves about Kromer, then say they will move Long to OT...

you should all be happy that he won't move to the outside because this is why our overall QB play is looker better since Trest/Kromer arrived. Pressure is not right in the QBs face from DTs...

Very true, but they do need to fill both tackles in the near future. It's a guessing game whether they want to move him outside, but I doubt Kromer is ignorant of the fact that he really needs two tackles. Easier to fill guard.

Only makes sense to me... He is one of the most athletic o lineman I have ever seen... And if he can set the edge on runs outside he could really open up the run game on the edge... And the off the tackles is where you will find the most space to make plays...

Maybe he just can't pass block in the NFL on the end... Either way I'm happy he is here

Some of you just refuse to understand the protection schemes/philosophies of Aaron Kromer. Facepalm.

Another person who read an article or two about how Kromer likes to start his protections schemes from the inside out or how guard play is important and all of a sudden understands the bears protection schemes. Facepalm

Makes no sense to move Long to the outside right now. He can be a pro bowl guard for years to come. And as we seen lately the ability for a QB to step up is very important. Look what happened to Matt Ryan when he couldn't step up. I rather have some pro bowl guards with average tackles than the other way around.

Keep him at RG where he has shown success and don't mess with the line. Mike Tice used to pull this shit where thought everyone on the line could play any position and would move them around seemingly every week and they could never gel. Of course the players sucked but I don't think his musical chairs helped any.

If/when they move Long it will be in the upcoming offseason to LT and move Bushrod to RT.

Would like to see the Bears draft top G in draft and do this next year.

You're talking about a 5th rounder in Nicks and a 7th rounder in Jahari Evans. Grubbs was end of the 1st round draft pick. Guards are easier to find in this league than elite tackles. That's my only point. If the Bears think Long is an elite tackle profile you move him there.

Evans was a 4th-rounder

If a rt dropped to us in the second I wouldn't mind drafting him and keeping long at G...

That way we can groom him and still give someone else a chance to prove their worth...

Create a better competition on the o line...

I think that they should move him to right tackle next year. The reason is that right now they have a guy at right tackle who appears to be somewhat a liability in which they must give him help via tight end. Finding a good guard is easier to finding a right tackle I am told. So, this makes sense to me to go that route.

Definetly has T length body frame.

He does seem almost too big for guard lol. But, whatever. He's doing good at the position.

So,If they move Ola to RT this week and he plays lights out,I know you'll all still want us to draft a right tackle,Right?

I would leave Long at RG until Bushrod's time is done and then look to move him to LT. Seeing as that's a ways away, I would consider using a 3rd-4th rounder on an OT to step in for Mills, provided he doesn't turn it around from this point.

Wow, the stubborn ignorance around here runs deep some times.
Anyone who can't see that Long should be a Tackle, needs to spend a little more time studying the game.
So many fearful fans who refuse to accept the obvious.
Frankly, if they'd had the time and options last year, and if Long had more experience, they should have put Long at the RT and moved Mills inside to the RG.

Wouldn't that go inline with stubborn ignorance of fans that think they know more than the coaches that make these decisions?
