Wouldn't that go inline with stubborn ignorance of fans that think they know more than the coaches that make these decisions?

Ah yes, one of the more ignorant arguments made in sports forums. Well done.

Because as we all know, Coaches never make mistakes and are right every single time. They never change their mind, never make adjustments, and never screw up.
In fact, I believe it's been scientifically proven that being hired as a coach for a professional sports team immediately makes one omniscient.

Then again, maybe it has something to do with the reality that coaches don't get to be just simple talent evaluators. Shockingly, could it be that their jobs actually require far more than that?!

Which is no different than the fact that fans always think they know what's best for their team and know more than anyone in the business that are actually paid to make these decisions. The argument is a revolving door.

It's clear that there is a plethora of factors that go into the decisions of what player goes where and which positions they play. I think we all understand that. Is it better for the TEAM that Kyle Long plays Tackle instead of Guard? Based on the current roster and offensive scheme... I'm going to agree with the Coaches on this one and say no. Can he make the transition? Probably. He's an athletic freak... but by no means is it an automatic waste of his talent by not playing him at a Tackle position. No Guard on our roster is making that pulling block on Patrick Willis from the RG position besides Long.
